Katanna Fleet (Dark Force)

Question

Has anyone other than myself actually ever attempted to build the ~200 Dreadnaught Katanna fleet? I have actually done it before and it is GREAT! Imagine 200 Dreadnaughts suddenly appearing in orbit over your system and take out your fleet within seconds, then bomb the hell out of your planet! foaming at mouth . . .

It's great to be an Imperial. :D

Scathane agreeing with my Yuuzhan-Vong-induced logic and thoughts??? I thought that impossible.

Yes, that thing with the midi-chlorians sucks. I always liked more the Force is an energy field that all creatures create, it binds the galaxy together, was more mystical and in the end more attractive.

No, it isn't impossible, just highly unlikely... By the way, again I agree with your view on the Force! 8O

Well, I suppose we've found some middle ground. I too like the sense that many of things in STAR WARS are unknown and a mystery to we, the fans, but I also like Dr. Saxton's views and the way he can explain the logic behind a lot of it. A combination of both, I suppose. :)

I HATE midi-chlorians and that whole idea behind it! It makes you think that these little mystical bactieria have to infest you to become a Jedi (I am being saracastic, but hate the idea of being able to scan people's blood and find out if they're strong in the Force or not). I was a complete turn-off because it reminded of a something I read way back in an Animorphs book about the creators of the universe and time and through me out of the STAR WARS universe completely. :: sigh :: I hope they either (1) do away with it or (2) pretend it was never mentioned.

I vote for Number two.

Lost a planet Master Obi-Wan has, how embarrassing. - Yoda

Do not count a human dead until you've seen his body, and even then you can make a mistake. - Bene Gesserit saying

They'll have to live with it, I would hope that the midichlorian thing never existed. But to presume it never did is too close to willful ignorance, or imposed alteration of events (willful or not).

Let them figure out how they'll deal iwth it in Ep iii

I didn't mean to imply ignorance, but took the liberty of putting number 1 because I heard it suggested in the past. Simply put, I believe they don't need to resolve it, but simply allow it to exist and let the audience and the fans to take it as they wish. Perhaps it's a belief system among some Jedi and not among others (it's an odd suggestion, but after all, we can suggest what we believe). Just ignore its beign mentioned, leaving it to the fans and audience to do as they wish with it (I think I said that twice).

They can't. It's better to pretend that it never happened.

That isn't necessarily true. Read Saxton: http://www.theforce.net/swtc/preq/jedisith.html#midichlorians

I'm still hoping for an explanation why Qui-Gon didn't fade

They will probably say that he hadn't accepted his fate like Yoda or Obi-Wan had.

According to the producer dude on http://starwars.com, Lucas hasn't revealed this yet and seems reluctant to do so.

He probably didn't think that we, as fans, would notice this discrepency.

I think that, in this case, he does... He just doesn't want to tell us yet...

Hopefully he does address it, because it is one of those things that gnaws at the back of your brain.

Er..., personally with me, it doesn't. Moreover, if you ask me, it was never said that Qui-Gon or other Jedi don't glow in the dark after their demise. It's just that luke sees those Jedi who he has an emotional tie with...

There bodies did still evaporate though, I don't think it mattered if Luke had an emotional tie with them or not. Maybe they were more powerful than Qui-Gon?

Perhaps those that later glow blue (Ben, Yoda, etc) are a select few. Perhaps those that were "chosen" by the Force or thge midi-chlorians. All-in-all, though, I think it's better to just leave it an open question because it stimulates your mind to come up with new ideas. The Force and those who serve and how they do so do not need explaining.

. . . I never liked Qui-Gon very much anyway.

Those that later glow blue??

A new way to define dead Jedi Masters. 8O

I think we'll eventually see why they become on with the FOrce in that way.

Qui-GOn did become one, we did hear his voice in EpII.

I didn't like him that much, but I liked Maul less. Stupid villian, without interesting lines.

Bah.

That was what I thought too, but I went with 4 just to make sure I didn't say less than the actual number. If they had made Maul last a little longer (like into Attack of the Clones and maybe even into EPIII), then maybe he would have been a better on-screen character.

What's this, the Charge of the Anti-Qui-Gon Brigade?! What's wrong with Qui-Gon?

I do agree, however, that Maul was taken out of the movies way too early!!!
