McCain will never get as far as he should. He doesn't have enough support from his own party to win it. HIllary, ont he other hand, does.

As for me, I vote Jesse Ventura.

I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.

I´ve read McCain is just 70. Isn´t that a bit too old? I know Reagan was also that age when he was president. In my opinion he´s allright, but much too old.
Who cares at all?!

WTF Iran... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article1563877.ece

Iran ‘to try Britons for espionage’

"FIFTEEN British sailors and marines arrested by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards off the coast of Iraq may be charged with spying."

They won't need to blame Bush or Blair for provoking an incident with Iran, they are bringing it upon themselves with inciting the violence in Iraq and now taking these actions against UK troops.

'Bringing it upon themselves,' being the point to stress I think.

I seem to remember the Iranians pulling off a stunt like this not so long ago, and we got our service-personnel back after three or four days. But we shall see..

Ah... let's just bomb them already... Isreal started that whole thing against Lebanon over a single kidnapped troop. We have to beat the "Zionist" to the punch 8O

I also seem to remember the Iranians seizing British personnel in 2004 and that was resolved rather peaceably. Still this matter concerns because, as budious pointed out, kidnappings have been flashpoints for war. Then again, the Iranians tried this same sort of thing at the embassy in London and then at the American and British embassies in Tehran, and still war didn't result...

Budious neglected to point out that Hezbollah, crossed the Israeli border and murdered Israeli soldiers before their kidnapping. An act of provocation or what! 8O I can't say I was surprised a lot of Lebanon was reduced to rubble as a consequence. And despite the rather un-victorious Israeli withdrawal, Hezbollah shot themselves in the foot in the lon run over this one, given all it will have done is make one of the world's finest armies restructure it's order of battle and make it a far more efficient killing machine the next time Israel is attacked by the Muslim world. Given the Muslims are currently killing themselves, despite the Saudi so called peace accord, in Lebanon, Israel will further have the time to assess what went wrong in their justifiable retaliation against Hezbollah and the nation that harbours them.

The current situation is different. The UN has just past further sanctions against Iran for it's insistence on it's nuclear programme, and it's economy is already in serious trouble. The kidnapping of British personnel is a typical reaction of a regime in trouble, to divert attention from an ailing economy. We shall see what happens. The Iranians know you guys and my lot are bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting religious lunatics, so perhaps they are testing the water as to how they can go.

I have my own Prince Harry Conspiracy theory... Prince Harry is about to get deployed to Iraq where Al Qaeda has already sworn to attempt to kill or kidnap him once his unit arrives in Iraq. Also, Prince Harry's recent escapades such as drunkly stumbling into the gutter among others, the royality may want to see the young chap (is that how you say it the UK?) go get his war on. Instead of being a stationary target, the young chap and his unit roll into Tehran and raise the British flag! Finally... Britions can have a decent pic of their royality in the tabloids again. Is that so far fetched?

I've made no secret of holding no love for Democratic candidates but I'm glad John Kerry has the common sense to stand on the right side of the Don Imus debate. He's not running this time around which may just give him the freedom to speak to what he actually believes and not what is required for his loony constituents to vote for him.

http://www.nypost.com/seven/04182007/news/nationalnews/kerry__imus_firing_unfair_nationalnews_maggie_haberman.htm

"April 18, 2007 -- Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry yesterday said he doesn't think Don Imus should have been fired for his racially charged comments - a sharp break with the current Democratic 2008 front-runners.

"You know, the punishment has to fit the crime, so to speak," Kerry, the Democrats' defeated 2004 White House hopeful, told NY1."

I don't think Edwards is doing himself any good by talking about tax increases . Not that I'd support his position anyway, not for a socialist health care system

Hillary up to more Evildom.

http://www.breitbart.tv/html/2042.html

Senators Clinton and Boxer want a "legislative fix" to talk radio. They are taking a page of Bush's book and seeking to curve civil liberties and to suppress the free market. Way to go ladies.

The flaming left-wing (American) liberals (<-- catch that J  ) are just pissed because Al Franken's Air America (American) LIBERAL talk show when "belly up" (as in bankrupt; not enough sponsors, no money, no talky). But conservative talk shows seem to be raking in the bucks and are quite successful with millions of listeners. So instead of Hillary sticking a crowbar in her freakin' billfold and giving money to Air America, she wants to pass legislation to curb her opposition. (*** looks around ***) Am I hearing Nazi theme music playing? (*** heads to the bunkhouse ***)

Got a tight grip on your $ there "Billary"?

I love right-wing flaming twats in America:

from far-right columnist Mark Steyn, who attacked the victims of the Virginia Tech massacre. No, that's not a misprint. He said they were "decadent" for not fighting back, and snapped, "They're not 'children.' The [victims] were grown women and - if you'll forgive the expression - men."

Yay!

Ann Coulter said in her number one bestseller Godless that she has "never seen women enjoying their husbands' deaths as much" as the 9/11 victims.

Yay!

op-rated radio host Glenn Beck recently explained, "It took me about a year to start hating the 9/11 victims' families... When I see a 9/11 victim's family on television, I'm like, 'Shut up!' I'm so sick of them - they're always complaining." He added, "I didn't think I could hate victims faster than the 9-11 victims" - until Hurricane Katrina. He called the people trapped in New Orleans "scumbags" and said "they're ruining it for everybody."

Yay!

Even some British spackoid Richard Littlejohn said the terrified Iranian hostage Faye Turney should "join Celebrity Fat Club". He even attacked the women who were killed in Ipswich as "disgusting drug-addled street whores" and "no great loss".

Yay!

Humanity at it's very, very best! :x

Source: The ever excellent Liberal columnist Johann Hari in his recent Independent article Rushdie is not the author of his woes, being critical of the Muslim muppets condemning Rushdie's knighthood.

He also wrote this making it clear who the real cause of 9/11 was. You went to war just after 1800 against this particular brand of Islam with the Barber countries I believe.

The flaming left-wing (American) liberals ( )

Noted!

Indeed a language issue matey. This side of the pond the majority of people are only to happy to describe themselves as 'liberal' in their outlook in life, I am. It doesn't have to equate to their politics to much these days, which I guess is why Europe laughs so much at the United States with it's obsessive abuse of the word.

My politics is fairly much centre of the road for the record. I truly hate communists with a utter vengeance; happen to think Bush is the worse President in North American history, yet look upon Reagan's Republican Presidency as a golden-age, that won the free world the cold war, despite our Thatcher being rather clumsy with her much needed economic reforms, and also think Clinton was an utter muppet.

What I ultimately don't understand is the all round flaming you guys in the States seem to thrive on within politics, because from my perception it just invokes shouting rather than rational mainstream debate.

:)
