Mad78 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Shaun of the Dead was fab and really hilarious. JediHunter Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I'm interested in Casino Royale... and yet not... its not that i fear change or that Pierce Brosnan was a better Bond.. its just... i dont know... maybe im a bit... tired of the Bond series... it lost its wit in the 80's in my opinion.. and its suffering.... the last two movies left something to be desired in my opinion.. and fool me once shame on you.. fool me twice shame on me... soo.. whats fool me a third time??.. SOCL Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I agree, JediHunter, the Bond series has lost much of its luster of the Cold War, and no Bond movie will ever be as good as GoldFinger. Goldeneye wasn't so bad, in fact, rather good, but the other recent ones...eh. Besides, supposedly Casino Royale is supposed to depict the training of a new 007, which implies that the name "James Bond" is an assumed identity that all agents 007 assume, rather than the real name. In other words, it seems that it was never meant that we were to assume that the changing faces of Bond were meant to be the same Bond... Would be interesting to see two a former Bond come into one of the new movies--everyone's been talking about Connery coming back--but then, that's been the rumour for years and years and years now... DarthTofu Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 The latest Bond flick didn't leave "Something to be desired," J.H. In fact, I'm slightly offended that you would say that about it! That movie left EVERYTHING to be desired. A poor plot, scientific inaccuracies a five-year-old could spot, bad sexual innuendos... *Hurls* There goes my lunch... Must stop thinking about that movie... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted November 10, 2006 SWR Staff - Executive Posted November 10, 2006 I'm hoping this rendition of Bond will be better. They can essentially ignore whatever happens after, and focus more on a great plot and story. Especially since it was based on a Bond novel, rather than off of someone's "oh let's put that in a Bond movie" notes. Batman Begins was a great restart of theat series... I hope Casino Royale will do the same. Paul Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 The best Bond novel I ever read was long ago and it was "You only Live Twice" great book. - Grand Moff Conway
Darth_Rob Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 The author was Sir Ian Fleming. And I steer clear of all the new Bond movies. After Connery and Moore the "franchise" went downhill... (though I must say that the Goldeneye videogame provided much, much multiplayer fun back in high school...) Paul Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I myself have also steered clear of the films since Roger Moore stepped down. He and of course Connery were Bond to me. - Grand Moff Conway
Eagle Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I totally agree with that connery and moore were the best Bond-Actors. Allthough I like the two movies with Timothy Dalton. Connery and Moore just played the role with lots of humour. I missed that a lot in the last movies with Brosnan. One of my favourite Bond-Movie was "Fireball". This underwater-battle-scene is still awesome to watch! I don´t know why lots of people have to complain about the new Bond-Actor. Just because he´s blond and not dark-haired?! If he should fail, what I don´t believe, than the next Bond-Actor could be probably him. Who cares at all?!
JediHunter Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 i remember that they were considering Hugh Jackman and Heath Ledger... I'm just really happy they didnt pick either one.. so.. i may be willing to give this guy a chance.. "Duct tape is like the force. Mad78 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 The last bond was hopeless but i must say that I found "Tomorrow Never Dies" to be my favoriute one with Brosnan. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance

Mad78 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Most of the old bonds have this unique feel to them which the new ones don't tend to have. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance

DarthTofu Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I knew there were Bond novels, but I have yet to find any. Of course, I haven't looked terrifically hard for any of them... My favourite movie was actually GoldenEye. I haven't seen quite as many, and maybe it's because I saw Connery after seeing the newer Bond flicks, but he never did it for me. I grew up with Brosnan, and while I hated the last few, he's still Bond to me. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 My grandpa used ti have a rather neat collection of the novels. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
JediHunter Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I grew up with Brosnan... Wow, make me feel old.. As corny as it is, I like The Living Daylights although I don't think Dalton was the best bond. If I remember correctly this was the last movie to be based on a work by Fleming until Casino Royale... because he didnt write all that many if I remember correctly... Hollywood just used the working theme to make money.. which is their job so I won't fault them for that... "Duct tape is like the force. Mad78 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I believe Sean Connery shall always be the perfect Bond and that the best movie would have to be Goldfinger. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
