I saw I am Legend a few weekends back and actually enjoyed it more than the book. The book was written so long ago that the social commentary in it almost doesn't apply to today's culture. The movie and book had different endings and different commentaries which were appropriate for the time.

I saw Sweeny Todd just the other night and must say its a pretty damn good movie. Of course, Helena Bonham Carter does a great job, as does Johnny Depp. Unfortunately I had to endure seeing the movie from the front row, but plan on seeing it again comfortably from the back. :D

Oh and hello all. I'm still around, just tons of overtime and no more internet allowed at work. So I really forget to check the site from home sometimes but plan on doing so once I get back in town from the family's abode.

... I got a rock.

 No movies in my gift basket this year, though my sister gave the family A Muppet Christmas Carol, which is as heartwarming as the real story and then some.

We saw Sweeney Todd today. It was ridiculously awesome and everyone in the world should see this fine film. Definitely a great way to end the 2007 movie year.

It's a hundred and six miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.

Hit it!

Splendid movie, that! One of the best of all time!

I got The Blues Brothers for christmas. Brilliant movie!

I'm from that town where the movie starts off, which is called Joliet. That prison is really there too, but I think it's been closed down.

Another movie I am looking forward to: Repo: The Genetic Opera

Looks pretty neat and gory. But what´s with all that singing??? 8O

I don´t like singing in movies. That´s also one reason why I don´t like Blues Brothers.

I usually have a "to each his own" philosophy on things such as movies, but for this I must take out my cross-country sniper rifle and end your misery, Eagle, for clearly one who does not care for The Blues Brothers doesn't care for life itself.

Well I allways felt that this movie was kinda overhyped, so when I saw it for the first time I wasn´t very convinced. If it should be a John Belushi Movie than I rather prefer "Animal House" or "1941", which are both very hilarious.

But I see that there´s just one way to make you join me on the funny side of the force by using the old tradition of fighting it out in a lightsabre-battle.

Woah! Check it out, Mad! They're making a movie out of your new favorite game!

Five bucks says that it's creepy as hell.

I saw Live Free or Die Hard today- good movie, though rather stupid at some parts, such as when the natural gas apparently blew up while it was still in the pipes for no apparent reason- I saw no fires way over yonder to ignite it- and when the assassins could apparently get in to plant a bomb on people's computers, but couldn't go to the far cheaper and lesser trouble of shooting them.

All-in-all, though, for pure coolness, I'm willing to overlook- oh, yeah, and the hovering jet! Unless that was a jump jet or similar it would have one hell of a hard time hovering like it did!- umm, as I was saying, I'm willing to overlook some of the lacks in realism and sense.

I saw I am Legend today. And i must say I found it bloody good!. Will Smith gave an amazing performance.

Yes Will Smith can act. We knew that from Pursuit of Happyness already.

Sadly I am Legend did not satisfy the scifi nerd in me. The first part was him talking to the dog... the conclusion seemed to just hand-wave everything.

Isn't 40,000+ days like 120 years? WTF is going on in that movie?! Looked like crap anyways so I wont be watching it, maybe I'll download it when a 720p torrent comes out :P

We had a movie day on the first. Watched Disney's Ratatooie (sp?), which turned out to be a decent movie, though not one for the classics in my book. Too much emphasis on how good they'd gotten at animation, but not enough effort put into the people. I understand that they can never make the people look entirely realistic, but must they be so incredibly cartoony?

Also saw Anchorman finally. The first half hour was just dumb sex jokes so far as I was concerned, and wasn't very funny. The middle was semi decent. The end was pretty good, especially when Baxter was "speaking" to the bear. I found that quite funny. Steve Carrel (sp?) stole the show, though; I think he was funnier than just about everyone in the movie.

My folks watched Hairspray today. I try to keep an open mind about movies and sample them without prejudice. Before the first twenty minutes were up I was off playing Empire at War again. Not a good movie for guys- too much Broadway musicalness.
