Imperial-II class Star Destroyers!

Man, that is a ship - looks like it's worth every credit spent for it's building :lol: ... and it is! :twisted:

As for power, let's not discuss examples from movies and books... Rebels seem to be able to take out an ISD with a Corvette...?!

Take an example:

- Death Star destroyed by ~48 fighters;

- an ISD in Empire destroyed by just one asteroid (the size of a bridge section, through);

- SSD Executor (cost: 700 trillion space credits) wrecked by an A-wing (50 bucks at the local Hutt market)

There are also countless examples in the books. But this is all just Rebel-symphatetic propaganda. After all, it was just one ISD (the Chimaera) who took out an entire task force of about 8 Dreadnaughts - some three would be an even match for it.

With all that considered, I still say: ISD-class with it's butt-kicking 100 turbolasers batteries... :twisted:

There is only one life;

There is only one truth;

There is only one EMPEROR'S GRAND PLAN.

Well, they all have reasons for occuring.

    -Death Star I: The exhaust shaft or whatever its called, was open and Imperial overconfidence caused its destruction at the hands of fighters.
    -Well, I don't think an asteroid destroying an ISD really matters since I doubt they had shields up and most asteroids (as is evident in the novels) are made out of the stuff (very powerful metal) that ISDs and others ships are made out of
    -Executor: Destroyed because of the second Death Star. You see, bridge shields were apparently down and the A-Wing succeeded in crashing through the viewports, killing the bridge crew. The secondary bridge couldn't react in time to save the ship (probably Imperial overconfidence...again) and thus it was pulled in to the second Death Star because of the proximity to its gravitational influence.

Also known as TGGMW (The Good Guys Must Win) syndrome.

Quite true. :twisted:

No Fleet buyers?

But I need just four more for my Thrawn armada special edition collection.

Can't I change my gift for the limited edition Palpatine figure that speaks and controls my mind???

I'd love it, just as I'd love on of the VicStars... You don't happen to have a Strike Cruiser, don't you?

Say, speaking of Imperial ship-building, I've written a small Star Wars story based around Kuat Drive Yards.

It's called LOYALTY TO TREASON. :twisted:

It offers a really weird angle to some events in Star Wars and raises some intersting thoughts (not Lucas-approved, I'm afraid :wink:).

If any of you would like to read it, let me know. I'd be happy to hear some thoughts on it. :wink:

  • 2 weeks later...

I'd have to say that a few of my favorite ships are some of the weirdest looking like the Neb-B, Assault Frigate or medium transport, or in the simplistic yet functional design of the Imp escort carrier (takes me back to my X-Wing vs TIE days).

As for actual performance in Rebellion though, I find I build a good deal of the mon cal cruisers. With all the ships I left as is except in build cost and maintenance with rebed. The only notable difference in any other stats is with the heavy hitters...the SSD and Bulwark...I gave them some laser turrets to combat fighters. My reasoning being, they're large enough, why shouldn't they have defenses against fighters? I don't go overboard though, usually about half the numbers of the second highest weapon it has.

Man, I can't believe I never answered this thread! 8O

The Correlian Gunboat would be based on the ship that blows up the emblem on the Imperial Palace when you take Coruscant in the game. Just imagine that ship with a little modification, maybe a smaller version..... :D

That would be the Bantha-class Assault Shuttle. It's in the 'New Essential Guide to Vehicles'. :wink:

I'd have to say that my favorite Rebellion capital ship is the Nebulon-B. I've often found myself getting carried away with their production. Three of them cost only a slight bit more than a Mon Cal cruiser, yet you're getting loads more firepower and double the starfighter complement. Two of them are more than a match for a Victory SD, and three of them will thrash an ISD.

My favorite RebEd craft are the MC40a and the MC80b. While stats are going to be different for everyone, I've tried to keep mine proportional to the WEG stats and the ship's 'official' stats.

My favorite starfighter is the B-Wing, although flying around in a TIE Defender in XWA is a blast.

Five of the Greatest Lines in the Star Wars Trilogy :roll:;)

-"As you wish..."

-"He's no good to me dead..."

-"What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me."

Nebulon B frigate?

Well, it is rebellion so they made it ALOT stronger then in the other games or films.

I have to say my favorite ship early in the game is the Rendili Star Drive Dreadnaught. It packs quite a punch with those ten turbolaser batteries and the ability to carry a squadron of fighters. Three of them with maybe a Corvette for Anti-starfighter can knock out an ISD. There also alot harder to destroy then a Nebulon B.

Of course I play with my personal mod so my disdain for the Nebulon B is based on its performance in my mod, which uses the stats from XWA. I use it mostly for escort duty. Yeah, in XWA its hull rating is ony 400 or so... Sad.
