NIIIC Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 I see, you all ready seem to know it. I know it might seem a strange and infantine question but I think it could make an interesting topic. So if you poster, give the name of it and a short description of it. For me it is JAG does any one know, it is about the US military layers, but recently it went down in quality because it is happening during the war of Iraq, which wasn’t happening when the series came out, but now it is not so interesting. Other is Star Gate SG-1 but it is finished. I read critics about the new ones Star Gate Atlantis, and they say it isn’t as good as the last one. But it also said that they might continue SG-1, and that they are trying to get the guy that plays O’Neil (or Mc Gyver), and I hope they will because he is the one that brings the series up. For the story, it is derivated from the film Star Gate that you all know I suppose, same story but what appends next. To be briefs, the archaeologies have found a big ring of at leas 4 meters wide (13.12 feet) buried in the Egyptian dessert. And the US army teaks it and discovers that it is a door that leads you to other doors on other worlds. And you imagine the rest.
Trejiuvanat Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 I've two favorites:The Simpsons, and Seinfeld. When I was a kid, I really like the A-Team and Knight Rider... http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
AdmiralFishface Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 1.) Babylon 5, not only the best Sci-Fi series there is, IMO, but my overall favourite TV show as well.2.) Futurama. Three words: Funny as hell.3.) The Simpsons. Yay for yellow. Also: Monty Python's Flying circus, old but great, X-Files which would definetly be in my Top 3 were it not for the horrible 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th season, and Batman: TAS which was great until someone decided it should be more of a kids' show. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/RiesstiuIV/Krempel/trapaure.gif
Barkoa Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 The Simpsons is good, but... FAMILY GUY is better! That is the funniest series ever to be created. It so random, I love it. Also, I find Spongebob Squarepants quite clever and amusing too. "Be at peace, for the force is my ally and I shall not let anything happen out of my contol."-Barkoa
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I'm a fan of Family Guy, and was relieved to hear that they are bringing it back (there haven't been new episodes in a year or so). History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Barkoa Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 I was stoked to find they've released series 1 and2 on DVD now. I'm gonna get them soon, if I can find them. "Be at peace, for the force is my ally and I shall not let anything happen out of my contol."-Barkoa
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 They're a little pricy for me. They were good, but not $70.00 good. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
NIIIC Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 Looks good, I forgot two other of mien, Friends and Will & Grace. They are quite fun, I think you know them all, but her in Switzerland, we just have the ones that have had a great success in the USA and that the French TV can afford. And of yours, I only know one, the Simpson, the other, I have never heard of them, so a bit more description would be welcome. Just to increases my knowledge.
Krytos Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Series I like:Star Gate SG-1 - though, it hasn't been on for a while (and it finished half way through series 6 or 7 - stupid Channel 7 ) Scrubs - great comedy about doctors, inturns and residents. Very funny (Once again, channel 7 has seemed to cancel it ) Simpsons - funny Futuruma - funnier King of the Hill - Good for a laugh Ed - I thought it was a great comedy, loved the $10 bets 24 - Last season was great - didn't like the others though and I'm pretty sure everyone knows about 24 Old School:From a few years back - mainly cartoons (Hey, I'm only 19!) Transformers - More than meets the eye Battletech Animated series - love Battletech, no surpirse I loved this! Dinosaurs - A bit like Simpsons, though with hand puppets of Dinosaurs ("I'm the baby, gotta love me" ) Well, that's all I can think of - probably more, but who's counting? ? http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
NIIIC Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 There is an other one, it is about doctors in the emergency department in Chicago, it is that series that mad G. Clooney famous.I forgot its name in English, I think it is Emergency Department or some thing like that.
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Close, it ER, or Emergency Room. I never watched it when Clooney was on (maybe because I was only around 12 at the time), and now it just looks like a primetime soap opera. As for a description of Futurama and Family Guy: Futurama: Like the Simpsons, only set in the future (a very messed up future at that). It's funnier than the Simpsons, and doesn't have any of the repetative catch phrases either. Family Guy: This is the simpsons if Homer were fatter and dumber, Marge had fewer morals, Bart were fat and really dumb (more so than Homer!), Lisa is still smart, but she's your typical teenage girl, Santa's Little Helper (the dog) is a savvy, high-class mut who talks and enjoys drinking, and Maggy is a little psycotic baby who enjoys goading the dog (who can talk), attempting to kill his mother, and creating weapons. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Mad78 Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Simpsons: Never resist it Stargate SG-1: Very entertaining John Doe: Really enjoyed that one N.C.I.S. : prefer it to the experts Fawlty Towers: English Comedy with a very in shape John Cleese Skithouse: Australian sketch show... hilarious TLC: Black Humor. It only ran for 6 episodes but it was hilarious Dad's Army: More English humor Gundam Wing: Good but got a bit boring after a moment Dr. Who: A very old seventies show. Very fun to watch. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
NIIIC Posted September 2, 2004 Author Posted September 2, 2004 Close, it ER, or Emergency Room. I never watched it when Clooney was on (maybe because I was only around 12 at the time), and now it just looks like a primetime soap opera. Thanks, i never sore it then either but since it was the only program on TV when i came back from school, i got sort of court in it, but now i don't see it often, even never. Futurama: Like the Simpsons, only set in the future (a very messed up future at that). It's funnier than the Simpsons, and doesn't have any of the repetative catch phrases either. Now i know what you mean, it is made by the same producer that Simpson. It came out hire a few months ago on cable. Never sore it, or yes, once it was about his sister having a date with an idiot from what i understood. N.C.I.S. : prefer it to the experts Yes that one is also good, but experts are also, mostly the new ones in Miami. Did you see Wednesdays one, they passed two new ones and an old one, i hate it, because you go back in time, and it sounds strange.
Barkoa Posted September 3, 2004 Posted September 3, 2004 Lano and Woodley! That's one of the best series ever! Its so funny, but unfortunately they only ever made about 15 episodes. GOod aussie humour! "Be at peace, for the force is my ally and I shall not let anything happen out of my contol."-Barkoa
Mad78 Posted September 3, 2004 Posted September 3, 2004 Talk9ing about Aussi humor. On one of my rare trips to Oz I bourght back the episodes of the series "The Games"It based on these people trying to organise the sydney gaems. Its a Roar. All Australians or Tazmanians who haven't seen it should. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
NIIIC Posted September 3, 2004 Author Posted September 3, 2004 Does that mean i HAVE to see that damn stupid thing? . It is stupidly idiot, noting funny in the parts i saw from it. Just stupid bureaucrats that wander how to put a 400 meter long strip in a 396 meter long space. And are asking each other if they can shorten the running strip of 4 meters so the camera can fit in or some thing like that. With that stupid laugh behind. One good series that has that laugh but IS funny is «Everybody loves Raymond" that is great. There is also that English program that i forgot the name of about two not young women that love doing things that riche people do. Does any one know, i think you or some one of your family knows mad, so go and ask.
Guest Scathane Posted September 3, 2004 Posted September 3, 2004 I think CSI and CSI Miami are nice. Charmed an Buffy were okay but these kinds of television series tend to lose their appeal to me if they go on too long. Gilmore Girls is okay, as is Will & Grace. With regard to miniseries, i particularly liked Children of Dune and Band of Brothers.
NIIIC Posted September 3, 2004 Author Posted September 3, 2004 Band of Brothers is awesome, Charmed is good, but i never liked Buffy, and anyway it was always passing at midnight so it was a damn nuisance to see. Is CSI = Experts??? That scientific division of the police?

Krytos Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 YES!!! Band of Brother was great!! I forgot to mention CSI, it's great - though I CAN'T stand CSI: Miami News on Stargate SG-1 - It's back on in Victoria, Australia! Just had the episode where SG-1 goes back to Jonas Quinn's homeworld after beeing asked for help - hmm, just looking at the web site, they didn't show the episode before it where Daniel comes back. What's this Stargate Atlantis? I've never heard of it http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Mad78 Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 Well after a moment O'Neil has to be frozen and the only way to save him is to find the lost city of Atlantis. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
NIIIC Posted September 4, 2004 Author Posted September 4, 2004 I heard Atlantis isn’t any good, is it true???
Stellar_Magic Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 No. When you here stuff like that you have to take it with a grain of salt, its the opening season and therefore the characters aren't nearly as good as the later ones. I mean just look how cheesy the first season of StarGate SG-1 was. For the opening season Atlantis is extremely good...still we'll have to wait and see if they can keep it going.
