OOC: Ok heres what I'll do. You can be a friend of mine that I call on to help me with missions. I'll call you on commlink when we get to the moon. You can meet me on the moon :wink:

The shadows are my friend, for in them I find comfort.

But when it comes to war, I'll be with you in a minute.

The ship continued on its journey toward Mouvia. It would be 5 days before they reached the moon, Phalax, so he would have to get to know everyone a little better.

Captain Mirkon went to his quarters. This had been a short, but hectic mission. He was going to really need some rest if he was to participate in the potentially upcoming battle. Attacks were frequent, but is was impossible to predict how many ships would attack, and how long it would last. The MGD (Mouvian Global Defence) was well-trained and ready all the time. They fiercely defended their beautiful home, and had cutting-edge technology, which made them a force to be reckoned with. Laying on his bed, he closed his eyes. He was about asleep when the ship shook violently, throwing him to the ground. He jumped up, only to fall down again from another large bump. 'What's going on?' he thought, and rushed out the door.

OOC: Can I join your thread.

Name: Tython Xaan

Rank: Cadet

Tython was short and muscular for a human. He had dark brown hair and deep blue eyes and was about 18 years old.

This was to be his first job after leaving home three months earlier. He was to be the fourth wingman for the Delta squadron on the Mouvian moon.

His new flight commander named Housan was a strict but fair leader and trainer. Tythons training in the simulators was some of the best he had ever done but Housan said “Not bad but you better watch that left wing low or you might find you cant fly right when you need to.â€

Séreméla's ship was a top of the range fighter which she'd managed to purchase after a line of successive hits for a rich Corellian. While she wasn't much of a mechanic, she and the Black Enigma understood each other.

Chasing the jedi ship had proven to be easier than she'd anticipated. Staying far enough back to avoid alerting them, she watched as they launched to hyperspace, just as she'd been instructed they would.

Typing in the coordinates she'd been given she followed suit and felt the familiar surge of power as pinpoint stars became streaks of white light in her viewport...

OOC: hey Barkoa, just checking - are ur fellas still in hyperspace and if so can you attack people when they are? ie. could i attack you?!

Nuri was a short, brunette, human that could only be described as petit but feisty. She was a tough fighter and an outgoing, funloving person. She was born of Phalax, and had been trained in the ways of the jedi for all her life, and she topped her class that year. She was 16, and had finished the final jedi trials over and exhausting 7 hours the previous day. Today she was just relaxing and taking it easy. Soon it would be her turn to go out on the field and go on missions to distant system to see strange new things. She'd never left Phalax, and had only been to the surface a few times.

She strolled along the town that was nearest to the academy. She left her speeder in the outskirts of town and was going to take the day off. Stepping into a small bar, she sat down. The bartender came up to her. She seemed nice.

"I'll just have a Marnok Mixer, thanks." She smiled. It was a good day for her.

OOC: Just thought I'd give u something to do Ulic! and she'll be a more major character later!

OOC: Tan, is cool if you attack! Just can't kill us! : )

IC:The ship rocked violently. Barkoa had been looking at the repairs Afton had done when the first blow was struck. It knock most of the larger pieces off the table, making a loud clatter. Barkoa ran to the cockpit, but Mirkon wasn't there! Grabbing the control he pushed a few buttons. He'd only flown on of these a few times and it was heaps different to his private ship. He increased the shields to all areas and took it off autopilot and out of hyperspace. They had entered a smallish asteroid field that mustn't have been on the charts. Small to medium-sized chunks were colliding into the sides of the ship. The shield was starting to fail. He tried steering, but only succeeded in avoiding a few of the rocks. Mirkon finally ran in, another jolt sending him to the floor...

Mirkon ran to the bridge. Each blast either sent his to the floor of the ship, or got close. He made it to the bridge. Barkoa was steering, and not doing too well either. Another blast sent him to the floor. Getting up he jumped into the second chair. Barkoa seemed relieved to be rid of the controls. The next 10 minutes were intense, and beads of sweat formed on Mirkon's forehead as he skillfully made his way through the field. They were now free to continue. A few minutes of smooth flying passed and Mirkon was about to set it in hyperspace when another blast rocked the ship.

"What the...?"

Barkoa looked at one of the monitors. "Now we're under attack!! "

A lucky shot hit the hyperdrive, temporarily disabling it.

A lone fighter zipped around the cruiser, pelting it with blaster fire. Barkoa ran to one of the ship's side guns, calling for Rantar to take the other, and for Afton to get the hyperdrive back in working condition. Barkoa's partner ran to the bridge to help Mirkon.

Solla borught the drink over and quickly scanned the new arrival. She set the drink down, "So...your a jedi?" she said cathcing a glimpse of a hidden lightsaber.

"It's not my fault!"

"Oh yeah? What's in it for me?"

Séreméla laughed giddily as the Jedi tried in vain to avoid her fire. Apparently neither were very accomplished pilots and in open space while they were in spacecraft thier mastery of the force was of no help to them.

Seeing the enter the asteroid feild she laughed again, watching as the old ship was rocked with a mixture of small asteroids and blaster fire.

Having the advantage of manouverability Séreméla weaved through the maze of asteroids easily and waited to see if they would survive their passage.

She had to admit that they did seem to find their feet pretty quickly and avoid the rest of the asteroid feild. She guessed that a Jedi at the controls was using the force to predict the paths of the asteroids. It was a good trick, but it wouldn't save them.

Locking her cross hairs on the ship, she held one finger over the button that would launch two photon torpedos and blast the ship into spacedust, but with the other finger she activated her comlink.

"Jedi ship, this is the pilot of the Black Enigma. Repeat, this is the pilot of the fighter currently targeting your sorry ship and preparing to send it into the black oblivion of space." She waited for a reply but none was forthcoming.

Keying the com again she continued. "I have no quarrel with you Jedi, but I understand you are in the company of a human named Rantar. He is a wanted man and I am here to escort him back to his home planet." She waited. Still nothing. "I can promise he will not be harmed at my hands." she added, wondering if the Jedi could sense a lie. The human wasn't worth any more to her alive and she always found dead people easier to deal with...

"yah," said Nuri, "well, at least I am as of yesterday!" She couldn't help smiling again, she was just so excited. "So do you own this bar? I've been in town often and I've never seen this. Did I just miss it or is it new?"

They weren't going to last long at this rate. Barkoa swivelled the gun around and unleashed a volley of heavy fire. This ship was too fast and too maneouverable. The pilot didn't even seem to know exactly what they were going to do next, so it was impossible for Barkoa to shoot pre-emptively. A few shots hit their mark, but didn't do much.

"Afton! How're we going with that hyperdrive??"

"Well congratulations,Jedi. Not really...new persay, but it wasn't always a bar. And I don't really own it I'm really just wait tables but the owner is out and we don't have a bartender so instead of close it, he put me in charge. So what brings a jedi to this dump?" she said gesturing around and pointing out that no one else was actually in the bar.

"It's not my fault!"

"Oh yeah? What's in it for me?"

"Well, I just wanted to relax after my rough day yesterday, and I guess I also wanted to look around. Being a jedi, I'm definitely going to be out on missions and I'm not sure when/if I'll be back. I may never return, you never know what could happen... Sounds too depressive." She said, but inside she knew it would be a while after she got wrapped up in something. Finishing her drink, she thought about leaving, but she was having a nice time talking.

"What's your name?"

Mirkon struggled to keep the ship going where he wanted. The blast were getting more frequent. He wished the jedi would hurry up and get the ship off their tail. All he need was two minutes to let the navcomputer calculate what was need and they would speed off into hyperspace, making it impossible for the assailant to follow. Evasive manouvers were useless to try with the ship. It was too bulky and built to go long distances, not to dodge laser fire. His scanners picked up two objects approaching quickly. Torpedoes. This wasn't good. "We got two bogies, comin in fast!" he yelled over the comlink to the others.

I'm gonna need a holiday after this! he thought.

Leiutenant Naruk walked to the bridge of his small cruiser. He had been with the Kestron Army for the last 5 years and had been promoted rather quickly. At least he had his own ship, even if it was only a 10 member crew. It was like a large fighter, almost. At least it had been an easy job so far, but he longed for some action. They were currently patroling one of the mining camps on a planet they'd recently acquired. He wasn't sure how without much of a fight, but it wasn't his job to ask questions. He wanted to just lay low until he was high enough to know things.

"Okay, it looks good here. Take us to the processing plant."

Rantar swivelled the turret sharply as the two blue trails caught his eye. Those better not be torpedoes! His dreaded thoughts were re-enforced as a warning was put over the comm system.

He was getting really frustrated now. The medication that he'd taken was finally loosing its groggy effect, though it appeared as if it would be too late.

Closing his eyes, Rantar focused and controlled his frustration. Opening his eye's again, he let off a barrage of energy fire in the path of the lead torpedoe. They had already been armed, probably in the hope to detonate if they hit an asteroid, and as it flew into the energy blasts it erupted into a magnificant plazma cloud engulfing the second torpedo.

"Nice shot!" The message blurted over the comm unit, though it was to distorted to be reckognised.

Why is this woman after me? What have I done? Rantar knew that the only reason the Jedi ship was being attacked was because of him. He was the reason that the others onboard may loose their life - he was the reason that Barkoa wouldn't reach his destination. Slowly, he realesed his finger from the trigger and stood up. Grabbing a comm unit, he chanelled it to the attacking vessel.

"If it's me you want, then it's me you'll get - I'm in the escape pod launching now."

Rantar moved to the escape pod as wuick as his injurred body could take him and jettisoned it before the others could object or stop him. He knew that the fighter could easily rip apart the Jedi craft - and their mission was vital to his planet, and another . . .

T'char stood at the bridge of NightHawk I, surveying the debris of the recent battle. Amazingly, the antiquated Preybird fighters had not only survived the brief conflict, but had come out better than the sleek, modern sith craft. He gazed at the myriad of pinprick flares as the surviving sith made the jump into hyperspace, running from the carnage.

He noticed the curious lack of capital ships. It was very odd for a sith to enter any conflict without the support of some form of heavy firepower...

Quikly he dismissed the thought - that was only one of today's many mysteries. The whereabouts of his target - a captain Sol Sebala - was a much more pressing concern. It looked as if it had been a bad idea to trust that slimy Rodian of an informant...

Reaching for the main control quadrant of the heavily modified YV-666's helm, he dropped the craft into an approach vector for the planet below. With a bit of luck, someone in the city below should know the where to find his target.

As he entered the city, he headed for a place guaranteed to be swarming with perfect lowlife informant types - the pub.

OOC - what's OOC stand for? :D (Out Of Context?)

OOC: It stands for Out Of Character. It's when you want to say something that's not in the story. Please make sure you read the story so far and give me us a quick idea of the type of character you'll be playing! Thanx for joining The Vathinor Crisis!

IC: Barkoa suddenly heard the other battery stop, and also the fire from the attacker ship. What did it mean? Mirkon ran in, "Rantar's just left in one of the escape pods! What are we going to do? Do we go for him, or do we get home where we're needed?"

Barkoa thought deeply. THis was a tricky one. All paths seemed obscured. "I feel it is our responsibility to keep him safe. Mouvia will have to wait. Try to get some kind of tracking signal on that ship."

This was a decision he hoped he wouldn't regret.

Nuri heard the sound of warning signals going off to alert the whole town of an attack. There was little she could do. She decided to get back to the academy. Thanking the bartender, she ran back to her speeder and zipped back to the academy. It appeared many of them had left for the battle. She ran to the hangar. She was disappointed to find ALL of the ships gone. She'd have to wait this one out, which was quite painful for her. She wanted to see Barkoa again. He was one of her best friends and she was eager to tell him her good news. She went to the roof and watched the sky patiently for two hours before returning to her room for meditation.

Mirkon was shocked. "Barkoa! How can we risk the lives of all of us just to go for one person?"

He was quiet for a minute. "Well, I sense she won't hurt him, for now. If we can track the ship, we can go home, but if we can't, we are responsible for his life."

"Yes, Barkoa. I'll see what I can do."
