ADarkJedi44 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Like a chick would play a game like that with you...perhaps you've forgotten. To be on this website.....you must be a .........................NERDDDDD! Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted July 23, 2004 Author Posted July 23, 2004 Hey, I resent that! I prefer the term geek History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
ADarkJedi44 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Fine geek it is! But Dork or dweeb fit also Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted July 23, 2004 Author Posted July 23, 2004 Why are there so many words for geek and what not, but only "cool" for popular? History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Krytos Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Microsoft Word's Synonyms (collective): Nerd, bore, drip, not interested, tire, weary, turn off, irk, bore to death, bore to tears, bore stiff and the list goes on - my aren't we popular http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Lord_La_forge Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Well yes. And as for the the topic:A STD simply blasts the snot out of a Mon Cal. So that's been cleared now.
Krytos Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Ok, now lets spice up the argument. An ISD Mk I vs. MC-90 My money is still on the ISD - though not before getting a pounding from the MC-90. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Mad78 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Which were the MC-90. Was that the Mon Remonda? http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Krytos Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Nah, the Mon Remona was an MC-80b - basically a military production version of the MC-80, it was Mon Calamari's first warship. The MC-90 was Mon Cals next creation. It was armed with 75 turbolasers (of which, each turbolaser produces only %80 of the power and ISD turbolaser produces), 30 ion cannons (of equal damage), 6 proton torpedo launchers and 8 tractor beam projectors. It could hold 6 fighter squadrons, 1,700 troops and 30,000 tons of cargo. It's sheilding and armor matched that of an ISD. It was faster than an ISD, and 3 times more manouvrable. Over all, an ISD mk I can deal out more damage while the MC-90 has speed and agility - it's actually a pretty good match. Going back over the stats has me thinking again, an ISD is only %12 more powerful over all, has the wedge shape and that's it. The MC-90 is less powerful, has torp launchers, is faster and more manouvrable. Hmm, now I'm can't decide http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Mad78 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 But don't forget tht an MC-90 could maneouver to stay behind the ISD, destroy its motors and then finish it of. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
ADarkJedi44 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 The MC 90s were like the Galactic Voyager. I definatly put my money on the MC 90....after 7 years you'd think they'd get a decent enough ship.... Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 The MC90s were the big kahunas until the Viscount Star Defenders were put into service.
ADarkJedi44 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Yes that's true (well except for New Republic Star Destroyers maybe), therefore they should be able to go toe to toe with an old ISD. Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Well, I believe the largest ship in the Galactic Alliances forces was the SSD, Guardian.
ADarkJedi44 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Well that's true, you also forgot the Lusankya. But the two SSDs were of course the strongest and no disscussion needs to be made about them Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 But the Lusankya was destroyed in battle. I believe it was the Rebel Dream novel of the NJO series.
ADarkJedi44 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 That's also true, but what time period are we in now? First MC 90s, then the Lusankya being destroyed? Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 When were the MC90s first put into service?
ADarkJedi44 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 7 years or so after Endor. The Galactic Voyager was one and it was mentioned during the Daala triology. Also I think there might have been one during the Reborn Emperor's times, the Defiance I belive. Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
Stellar_Magic Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Yeah well, I think the ISD actually only had two anti starfighter batteries... Of course according to Official Essential Guide to Vehicles an ISD has the following. 60 Turbolasers60 Hvy Turbolasers60 Ion Cannons Which makes it more then twice as powerful as an MC-80. The MC-80 is more manueverable, has redundant shields, and on the whole better crews. End result MC-80 would probably be destroyed by an ISD, but it wouldn't be a cakewalk for the imps. They'd probably be pretty damaged in the engagement. Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 I agree, with you Stellar. An ISD overall has the 'guns' so to speak. I think that is why they made such great war ships.
Stellar_Magic Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Yeah and their shear mass makes them hard to destroy. They hardly even need armor considering just how big they are. Clarke
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 The only real flaw would be as you pointed out, their speed and manueverability. Which they more than made up with power and sheer numbers.
Lord_La_forge Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 DUDES! Please! We DO have a chat room! Please!
ADarkJedi44 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 How is that spam? It's on topic and relativly spaced out..... Sweat saves blood-Erwin Rommel
