I just wanted to know what you sought. Since I couldn't make a gradient I tried something else. What do you think.

For the Azzameen:

And for the Viraxo:

So better or worse?

Better, but I've never been a fan of images for backgrounds for chars. I like the idea of the emblems though. Maybe you could do something with them?

History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.

Try a sort of embossed image of the emblem on the background, sort of like the original Reb/Imp ones, but make it look nicer.

Place your Azameen and Viraxo emblems on the background, but they need to be larger than they are now. Once you get a color scheem that looks good in 256 colours, use some of the effects in PSP until you find one you like. Start with the 3D effects and work from there. If you can't find anything to your liking, the ones above are great, I just prefer something not an image.

the puppets are much more interesting to look at than the CG stuff. I'm not able to think of many movies where the CG actually looked real. I'd say the first one to come to mind would be the first jurassic park, and maybe that's because of the color tones and just how large the dinos are. seriously, the dinosaurs of jurassic park beat the aliens of ep 1 and 2

the flying yoda wasn't so bad though.. kind of like a green blur after a few beers

btw, what is that space picture supposed to represent (the one following 'for the azzameen')? it's from ESB right?

You can find more info in the family affair thread (in forum 24) but in short:

I am working on a TC based on the game x-wing alliance and I do not know what to use as background for the characters (since the two camps are nether the rebellion or the empire). So I am experimenting.

Just to get back on topic slightly here, I think you should all refer to the poem Dha Werda Verda. It covers the original inhabitants of Coruscant, as well as their eventual demise.

I don't think i've ever read the poem, but i seem to remember that coruscant was originally home to two sentient species, who eventually wiped themselves out in a great war. i don't recall coruscant ever being referred to as the homeworld of humans.

There isn't any realy poem, but it is referred to in the books. It tells of the conquest of Coruscant's indiginous people, the Battalions of Zhell, by an alien rance called the Taungs. There was a war between the two people, and the Zhell were winning until a volcanic eruption rained ash upon the city of Zhell. The plume of ash hung over the city for two years, casting shadow across the land. The Zhell believed that it was the doing ot the Taungs and gave them a new name: Dha Werda Verda, The Warriors of Shadow, or sometimes translated into Dark Warriors. The Taung saw the shadow as a sighn of their destiny and adopted the Dark Shadow Warrior identity for thier other conquests.
