Shadow_of_Thrawn Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 I've often wondered this, but haven't ever really came across an answer. Where exactly are humans supposed to have come from in the SW universe? They are a species that inhabits and seemingly dominates the galaxy, yet have no known homeworld, while almost every other species has one. How could one species have become so dominant?
BadSamaritan Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 It has been said that humans spread like a weed throughout the galaxy, infesting every planet they came across, to the point that they were the majority, and the minority, at the same time. Im guessing that the humans discovered space travel first, but lost contact with whatever home world they had, and eventually created different sub-cultures, different from whatever they had, and eventually created all the different cultures we see today. There is also the 'seeding' theory, but lets not get into that. I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
Mad78 Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 That is a good question. Butr I doute we ever get an answer. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Krytos Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 I've always liked to think that Earth is in the unknown regions. And that human's spread by either discovering some form of advanced space travel or something along the lines of KOTOR - where an advanced civilisation interferred and after several years of war, Earth was lost from all records. Well, that's what I think anyway . . . Who knows - maybe some time in EU they'll find Earth's or clues of it - personally I'd like it not to be found, kind of leaves it misterious, though that they learn of its existance etc. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 It couldn't be Earth for one reason: it all happens in a Galaxy Far, Far away. I think that humans probably originated in the Corellian or Coruscant sectors, as those seem to be the most common places to find humans. From there they spread and, as stated above, sort of took over and formed diverse new cultures. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Mad78 Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 It is poosible humanity discovered Hyperspace travel which oermitted them to explore and colonise. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Trejiuvanat Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Supposedly Coruscant is the craddle of humanity in the GFFA, from there whatever aliens built the Corellian system took some of them, and once hypedrive was invented they colonized most of the Core world. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Mad78 Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 I think I read somewhere that Coruscant was a colonised world http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 I think I've heard that too. Remeber, the only way to get sunlight is through an elaborate system of mirors (at least it was before the vong came), and water has to be mined from the polar regions. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Trejiuvanat Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 It has a rather template climate, without the mirrors and all. Mirrors were just build to warm the planet up a bit, because of the height at which the buildings rose, a couple thousand meters abouve sea level will cool it up for you. And the humans where the first to build all ver Coruscant, I read that after the two other nonhuman races wiped themselves out on Coruscant, only the humans were left to build up the world... From Coruscant colonists left for Kuat, Chandrila and Alderaan. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Guest JediIgor Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Well I know that if you play Knights of the Old Republic it tells you about an Empire that existed a long time ago, before hyperspace travel was even invented (in the sense it's in now anyways), and I'm pretty sure the books have hinted at a race that has dominated the galaxy before the Republic. So I don't think the humans were first to discover anything, I just think they spread like parasites once they got space travel
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 Aye, it's more likely that humans were slaves of sorts and after this all-encompassing race destroyed its-self, they were there to pick up the pieces. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 Aye, it's more likely that humans were slaves of sorts and after this all-encompassing race destroyed its-self, they were there to pick up the pieces. That sounds more reasonable than any other theory so far.
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 The only flaw is, why didn't the Mon Calamari, Bothans, Sullustans, Gotal, Byss, Hutts, Rodians, Weequay, Ithorians, Quarrens, Gran, Aqualish, Abyssin, Noghri, Clawdite, Duros, Faleen, Neimoidians, Wookies, or Selonians do the same? History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Stellar_Magic Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 Maybe they weren't slaves but the masters...That would explain why they're the ones spread all over, and the slaves were only used on their home worlds. Guest Admiral_Antilles Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 Or maybe they never really traveled or saw the need until the "slave masters" and humans began to populate their own seperate sectors...
Mad78 Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 YOu are all wrong... It was the Goahuld that stole the humans from their home planet to use them as slaves and then abandonned them on certain planets http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
smellymummy Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 hi about hyperspace travel and humans, according to some star wars RPG material, historians of the 'old republic' believed that the Duros (non-humans from the planet of duros ) introduced the hyperdrive to the humans. however the material does mention that the duros introduced it to the humans of Coruscant and Corellia.
