The MC40a Light Cruiser is a Mon Calamari warship built by Mon Calamari Shipyards and operated by the Rebel Alliance as a versatile mid-sized combat vessel.

MC40a Light Cruiser is a ship in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the game slot that the original game gives to the Alliance Dreadnaught, and has that slot's costs and stats.

History

Within the Rebel Alliance this cruiser grew steadily more important. Its distinctive appearance reflects the engineering style of the Mon Calamari. As a flexible warship, the MC40a held a key position in the Rebel fleet. Powerful weapons and deflector shields let it meet Imperial forces in a range of confrontations. Together with its maneuverability, that firepower made it a useful part of the Alliance's arsenal, and after the Death Star's destruction it contributed a great deal to Rebel strategic operations throughout the Galactic Civil War.

In the game

The patch gives the slot a new name and identity but keeps its stats: a field-by-field comparison with the original game data finds no differences. Everything in the Alliance Dreadnaught article's stats applies here too.
