Imperial Escort Carrier

From Star Wars: Rebellion Wiki Original 1.02 & 25th Anniversary

Imperial Escort Carrier is an Imperial capital ship in Star Wars: Rebellion. The in-game encyclopedia says it was designed to add to a fleet's starfighter capacity. It gives TIE class fighters a hyperspace-capable platform for travel. It has light weapons and shields, but it can carry whole wings of fighters and shuttles.

In the game

The Imperial Escort Carrier costs 34 refined material to build and 30 to maintain. It has a fighter capacity of 6 and a troop capacity of 0. Its shield strength is 200.

The infobox values come from the game's data file. Ratings such as hyperdrive and maneuverability are internal numbers that the manual does not explain, so they are best used to compare ships.

The manual's ship table gives the same capacity: 6 fighters and 0 troops.

25th Anniversary patch

The Imperial Escort Carrier is a carrier built by Kuat Drive Yards for the Galactic Empire, designed to deploy and support TIE fighter squadrons in patrol and combat.

Central to Imperial naval strategy, this carrier was built chiefly to deploy and support TIE fighter squadrons, which greatly strengthened the Galactic Empire's patrol and enforcement across many star systems. Because it could carry a large force of starfighters and launch them quickly, it was useful in attack and defense alike. After the Death Star was destroyed, Imperial Escort Carriers were pivotal in keeping space superiority, especially in remote regions where big Star Destroyers were impractical. They showed how the Empire adjusted to the shifting course of the Galactic Civil War, using quick, efficient, flexible ships to extend its reach and control.
