Zakuul
Zakuul is a human-inhabited planet of swamps and bogs bordered by a southern ocean, set apart from the main currents of galactic affairs and little known to outsiders.
Zakuul is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Vinsoth.
History
Zakuul stayed a little-known, cut-off world. The Eternal Empire that had once held sway over it was long gone, and the planet had little contact with galactic events. Its people turned inward, working on internal affairs and rebuilding their society. The destruction of the Death Star and the war that followed between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire hardly touched Zakuul, whose seclusion shielded it from the larger struggles.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Unknown Regions sector; the original game calls it the Quelli sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
