Vandor
Vandor is a frigid, mountainous world of plains and fast-flowing rivers, sparsely populated and remote, known for its treacherous terrain and its valuable coaxium mines.
Vandor is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Denab.
History
Vandor stayed a remote, thinly settled world with a small but lasting population. Its cold, mountainous terrain was dangerous, and it appealed to outlaws and others wanting shelter from galactic conflicts. Demand dropped for the coaxium mined in its notorious mines, a precious fuel ingredient, as the galaxy changed, so the area's importance and exploitation prospects shrank. Even so, Vandor's residents kept struggling to survive in the severe environment and stayed inconspicuous as power struggles went on around them.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Inner Rim sector; the original game calls it the Sluis sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
