Umbara
Umbara is a temperate, shadowed world of rolling landscapes covered in overgrown plant life. Its native Umbaran people mine and trade doonium and are skilled in advanced technology.
Umbara is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Triton.
History
Umbara stays a mysterious, shadowy world defined by constant darkness. The Umbarans were recognized for advanced technology and a talent for manipulating shadow. While the wider galactic war raged around them, they kept to neutrality and isolation and concentrated on technological progress. To those aware of it, the planet remained a place of intrigue, and its people kept their reputation for moving skillfully through the gloom surrounding their world.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Crossroads sector; the original game calls it the Mayagil sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
