Tatooine (25th Anniversary patch)
Tatooine is a hot, arid desert world of canyons and mountains, native to Jawas and Tusken Raiders and also home to Humans. Its economy involves water, oil, technology, consumables, silicax oxalate and slavery.
Tatooine is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to G'rho.
History
Tatooine stayed a distant, thinly settled planet, well away from the galaxy's main fighting. Its punishing desert and scarce resources put most people off, yet it kept drawing smugglers, bounty hunters and others hoping to dodge Imperial scrutiny. Mos Eisley, its most notorious town, kept its notoriety as a den of criminals and lowlifes. Although bleak, the world mattered greatly to major events, since an important figure in the struggle against the Empire grew up there.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Wild Space sector; the original game calls it the Xappyh sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
