Quarzite
Quarzite is a cool world with a high-pressure atmosphere and crystalline caverns, inhabited by the native Belugan and Kage peoples. Its underground setting keeps it secluded from the rest of the galaxy.
Quarzite is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Ralltiir.
History
Quarzite remains a secretive, cut-off world. Its underground terrain was hard for outsiders to reach, so residents kept their privacy and avoided attention. During the struggle between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance the planet took no leading part, since distance and insularity kept it clear of the main fighting. Its people concentrated on local matters and on safeguarding their distinctive culture, staying detached from the wider galactic conflict.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Core Worlds South sector; the original game calls it the Fakir sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
