Nar Shaddaa
Nar Shaddaa is a moon covered by a single sprawling city, home to native Gank alongside Humans, Hutts, Zabrak, Besalisk and several other species. Contraband and spice drive its economy.
Nar Shaddaa is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Douglas III.
History
Nar Shaddaa remained a thriving center of crime, and a place to hide from the war between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Called the Smuggler's Moon, its packed urban sprawl offered endless openings for illegal trade and attracted smugglers, bounty hunters and other shady characters. The Hutt Cartel was strongly established there and extended its power over the moon's districts. As the larger conflict dragged on, the moon held on to its role as a haven for society's outcasts, whose residents mostly ignored the fighting elsewhere.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Hutt Space sector; the original game calls it the Jospro sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
