Kashyyyk (25th Anniversary patch)

Kashyyyk is a temperate world of forests, jungles, mountains, oceans and swamps, the native home of the Wookiees. Its economy produces processed metals and electronic components.

Kashyyyk is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Dantooine.

History

Kashyyyk stayed under Imperial control, and its native Wookiees endured harsh treatment and forced labor. Its dense forests and rich resources made it a strategic prize for the Empire. The Wookiees' resilience and desire for freedom nonetheless fed a growing resistance. In secret they allied with the Rebel Alliance, exchanging key intelligence and supplies in a joint effort against their oppressors. During the Galactic Civil War Kashyyyk became an emblem of the fight for freedom, showing its people's courage and stubbornness.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Crossroads sector; the original game calls it the Mayagil sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
