Hapes is a temperate world of cities, forests and mountains, home to the native Hapans and Humans, and known for its food, high technology and luxury goods.

Hapes is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Sarka.

History

Hapes keeps prospering under the isolationist policies of the Hapes Consortium. Governed by a matriarchal monarchy, its society stayed mostly detached from the wider war between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. The world held its name for great wealth and secrecy, and its rulers put resources into advanced technology and defenses to guard their realm. Hapans stayed firmly neutral, concentrating on keeping their distinctive culture and their people safe. Amid galactic upheaval, Hapes remained a refuge for anyone who could pass the Consortium's guarded borders.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Colonies sector; the original game calls it the Dolomar sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
