Mon Cala

Mon Cala is a temperate ocean world inhabited by the native Mon Calamari, Quarren, Whaladons and Amphi-Hydrus. Its economy covers seafood, food, medicine, high technology, starships and weapons.

Mon Cala is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Valrar.

History

Mon Cala feels new hope and resolve to fight the Empire. Its main inhabitants, the Mon Calamari, already had a tense history with the Empire because they wanted freedom and autonomy. After the Death Star's destruction they committed greater means to the Rebel Alliance, supplying advanced starships such as Mon Calamari cruisers. These vessels became a vital part of the Rebel fleet and made Mon Cala a major contributor to the cause's triumphs. The planet's steadfast support hardened the Rebellion's determination to challenge Imperial dominance.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Tingel Arm sector; the original game calls it the Glythe sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
