Gerrenthum

Gerrenthum is a temperate, heavily urbanized world inhabited by Humans, Nothoiin, Lutrillians and Mugaari. Its economy produces technology, food and labor.

Gerrenthum is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Culroon III.

History

Gerrenthum, a little-known world, underwent major change. As the Galactic Empire sought firmer control of the galaxy, the planet's strategic value rose. The Empire built a military presence, put up installations and enlisted locals to strengthen its forces. Residents who had enjoyed fair independence felt tension and unrest, and resistance movements started to form, with some citizens turning against the oppressive Imperial government. Covert missions and sabotage aimed to erode Imperial influence and produced a delicate balance of power. Throughout, Gerrenthum remained a site of continuing conflict and intrigue contested by various factions.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Western Reaches sector; the original game calls it the Kanchen sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
