Bescane

Bescane is a temperate to cool urban world in the Outer Rim North, inhabited by Humans, with an economy of raw materials, chemicals, heavy metals, ion fuel, mid-level technology and entertainment, among other goods.

Bescane is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Zeffliffl.

History

Bescane, noted for its strong technology sector, saw a major change in its political balance. The population stayed largely neutral, but the balance of power shifted while the Imperial rulers met growing opposition. As the war escalated, the planet's role as a center of advanced technology and manufacturing drew the interest of several factions wanting to boost their capabilities. Its leaders tried to remain neutral despite pressure from rival sides. Bescane became a vital but quiet participant in the galactic struggle, supplying expertise and technology to anyone who needed it while avoiding open confrontation.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Outer Rim North sector; the original game calls it the Atrivis sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
