Belsavis

Belsavis is a cold, frozen world with tropical rift valleys, home to the native Miuki and several other species including Duro, Humans and Rakata. Its products include vine-coffee and vine-silk.

Belsavis is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to New Cov.

History

Belsavis, a world of volcanoes and ice, rose in prominence. The Galactic Empire held the planet and kept secret the ancient prison complex under its surface. Built by the Rakata, the complex held perilous criminals as well as users of the dark side, along with secrets and artifacts gathered from across the galaxy. When the Rebel Alliance learned of the prison, it tried to free the inmates, hoping to strengthen its forces and obtain valuable knowledge. Fighting between Empire and Alliance followed and shaped the planet's later history.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Outer Rim West sector; the original game calls it the Churba sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
