I wanted to know if it's possible to alter DVader, in order to give him these characteristics:

- twice as powerful as the Emperor

- Force lightning

- Force Crush

 

also can you change his model? I have found these

well, if he had not sustained the wounds at mustafar he would have been 2 times powerful as the emperor, and capable of lightnings

i think that model is too high poly that it would slow down the game :/

you cant say that, you dont know the poly count of models in eaw nor do u know the poly count of that model.

Based off polly counts in other games in this era, and looking at the detail of the units and my knowledge of 3d I can make some safe bets.

 

Infantry: 700-800

Vehicles: 800-1200

Buildings: 1000-2500

Vader couldn't have force lightning. He had both his arms chopped off and there is no way electricity could go through his robotic arms, you would destroy them, haha.

Exactly. Why would Darth be powerful as the emperor. It is like Son being powerful than his dad. Makes no sense.

Trust me, if you max out the detail level, you can tell that ships and such have way more polygons than that. And Darth Vader is probably the most complex ground unit in the game (remember the in-game cinematics).

Regardless of poly counts that model probably is incompatable with the game. You'll probably have to make a whole new model tailor made for EAW.

We don't need to rebuild the model (hopefully), just get a converter from Petro to change common formats (like .3ds and stuff) to .alo and .ala and vice versa.

Anyone that has worked with 3d models and modding games can tell you that you can't just simply convert a model to the games format and expect it to work. I can tell from just looking at the model that it is well over 10,000 polys, maybe even more than 100,000. It was made for cinematic scenes, not for playing in a video game. I suspect EAW has a limit to how many polygons a model can have in the game, probably 5k, maybe 10k. There are also probably some texture limitations as well.

My view, Vader is the most bad*** Jedi ever.  Empire Strikes Back points this out.  Somehow, Lucas turned Vader into a wuss in ROTJ.  He goes from being the most feared person in all the movies, to a cowering lackey.  And it doesn't make any sense.

 

So, back to the point, if some of us want Vader to be the greatest Jedi ever, even if he is evil, then let we should be able to do it.

Uhmm ... he IS still capable doing lightnings, because he can grip too. Implants do NOT decrease the power of a Jedi, and even do so: WHY can Vader still grip someone if both Arms removed ? Maybe Vader don't want to use Lightings or Sidious was a bad teacher

Rofl, Okay, I just looked it up. That Vader Model you have above is 29,612 polygons. If you really want to use that in EaW, then you should just go shoot yourself right now and hope to wake up in 50 years when our technology progresses to that level  ;D. Now, Battlefield 2 characters are around 2000-6000 polys. In Command and Conquer Generals, infantry were only 800. Now, that being said, I will admit that the EaW ships are not that high polygon. From my best guestimations from seeing so many models after models, the ships are in the 1000-2000 range. What does make them appear detailed to you is the normal mapping (An advanced form of bump mapping).

And about that Vader-Model: There is NO FPS (First Person Shooter) with Actors with more than 8000 Polygons at close range. Why should there be a Model for a RTS like EaW with 29.500 Polygons that's only 2, maybe 3 cm small, if max zoomed in ?

First of all, Darth Vader IS NOT A JEDI ...

Yes, Darth Vader was a SITH alter-ego to Anakin Skywalker.

 

They were physically in the same body, yes, but Darth Vader is another "mind", another person to say the least. Even the "Dark Side" Anakin was not doing things the same way Vader did.

 

Darth Vader doesn't use full front attacks and raw power. He uses intimidation and brings fear in his ranks and the whole Empire. You HAD to respect Vader and NEVER disappoint him, or you had some nice Force Choke up your sorry self upon giving a report of your failure to him.

 

Vader followed the Emperor's will without questioning, and Vader was also a great commander. With all his powers he could have probably landed alone on Hoth and taken the whole Rebel base by himself.

 

But no, the Galactic Empire invades planets, create orbital blockades and use raw military power and great numbers to create fear amongst the known Galaxy, and whoever wants to oppose them will get the challenge of their life.

 

Vader was NOT a wuss in Return of the Jedi. He followed orders from the Emperor.

 

I mean ... Jesus ... the Old Trilogy's lore is around since 1977 and up to nowdays there is still people around that THINK they know all about it.
