You forget that Taris isn't a member of the Republic, unlike Telos. That would have immensely slowed down rebuilding not having Republic support.

 

Speaking of other KOTOR worlds, I must have passed over it before but I just noticed that Korriban was on the list! Man I can't wait to have a battle in the Valley of the Dark Lords! That's gonna be awesome! I wonder if those ruins are still there seeing that they were already ancient when you went there in KOTOR. It would be kind of cool to have the enemy be attacked by Hississ. (For those of you who don't know, Hississ are known as Force Dragons. They are tainted and controlled by the Dark Side of the Force which makes them very aggressive.) Perhaps someone could mod them in?

Omega thats funny about the Korriban thing because I just noticed it as well! When I was watching the Yavin IV movie, I noticed Korriban in the distance than I checked the list and it was there! That is one of my favorite planets from the EU! Cant wait to play on it as well.

I'm pretty sure the Sith ruins on Korriban would still be there. IIRC, the Emperor used to hang out there sometimes, being a Sith lord and all.

Water planets such as Manaan will be fought on water platforms, thats as much as we know so far. Although in Kotor it may have just had one big city, there would have been plenty of time for expansion, so it may be bigger in EaW.

why would we want them modded in it would just be a waste since they would then have to mod in maps to play them on.

Well, water craft are all well and fine, but we need to get the "rest" of the game finished (through EP VI) first. Then again, with the new news about moddability (or potential lack thereof), no one may be modding in anything (legally).
