In browsing the Rebellion wav-files using ResourceHacker recently, I noticed that Luke has two different sentences regarding betrayal, namely:

1. Someone has betrayed our mission to the empire.
2. The force has revealed a traitor in our midst.

Why's this?

The 1st is when a normal character betrayed you

The 2nd is when a Force sensitive user does that

 

I think!

No kidding? I've never noticed that...

I think there are chars that have two different lines for the same thing.

I THINK that I have gotten this msg before..

 

The first line I think is BEFORE Luke goes to Yoda and the second line is AFTER he is back

 

its like when he is healed before he goes to Yoda he says "I feel I can take the entire empire myself" and when he is back he says something like "I'm ready" (can't remember this since its been a while since I have got Luke hurt after he is back)

I've never heard Luke say this. Even after all these years of playing I still learn something new about the game.

Two different theories now:

 

TK421:

One messsage is for discovering traitors, the other for force-senstivie traitors

I am inclined to agree with Trejiuvanat, although I would like it to be TK421's suggestion. That would give a definitive extra o the game: if the programmers have thought of stuff like that, then it's likely that there the other wavs we can't account for are used for something as well...

maybe it is a combination of both.

if luke wasnt at dagobah u will not have a force character because he cant be detectet

Luke can detect force traitors even before taking to Dagobah, you just has to get him be a Jedi Knight

All quite correct, so I assume, we have concensus on Trejiuvanat's suggestion, then?

Andy's last comment makes me thing that it could be that one of the lines would be one of the scarcely seen thigns the programmer inlcuded. Like the DS II pic and the millenium falcon for the tactical game.

Yup! It seems that the material is right there in the DLLs, but it seems that it was never actually used in the game...

The Millenium Falcon does not seem to be used in tactical games, although the texture-pic is there.

 

As I've wrote quite a few times by now, you can see the DSII pic if you have:

-an imp planet with a DS under construction

-at least one more imp ship in orbit

-and a rebel fleet invading

 

The unfinished DS can't fire at this stage, although the icon is there.

the millenium falcon is the 4049 entry in the 303 folder in tactical.dll

use vadunkok's prog to convert the file into a bmp.
