@Rob: Worry not about the use of Gimp and such! Just use Paint!

 

I'll take a pic of you off of facebook and make you up all cartoon-like in a Vader suit on paint. You'll look little to nothing like your real self when I'm through, but I'll still do it.

@Mad: I should also point out, that a tablet is best for use when creating more organic - or flowing - textures. When I've made materials/textures for man made objects, a mouse is usually better due to the hard edges it gives with your movement.

Ok. I am going to have a go at making some textures during the holidays. We shall see the result.

Thanks Mad. I'd sure like to learn how to do some stuff. I use Gimp on occasion for other stuff.

GIMP is a very powerful program but it ain't that easy to use.

I had asked my friend and he didn't know how to use GIMP. He only uses PS, which I don't have.

Originally there was George Washington's birthday and then Abraham Lincoln's birthday on different days in February. To avoid too many holidays, they were combined into a single holiday which was renamed President's Day, which then included all US Presidents.

 

@Tofu: Yes there is Valentine's Day, but it's not an official "schools and banks closed, you might get the day off" kind of holiday

 

I don't think President's Day is like that anymore now. It used to be, but when MLK got his official holiday in January, that got the "closed/day off" status and President's Day, just became another work day.

Dali has always struck me as being rather strange. A model on Late Night with Connan O'Brian was talking about how he tried to recruit her to pose for a nude sketch by sending her a sketch he'd drawn of an erect (Close your eyes if they are still virgin) penis. (You can open them again.)
