Btw people, I uploaded that NJO starchart from DeAgostini to the dll-editing team's page (http://members.xoom.it/woodsboro/rebellion/reloaded_tc/). It's the most detailed referenced material I've seen so far.

 

This should provide us with the most planets we need for the TC.

Good stuff Mask, i'm actually an advocater of having the rebellion map looking as clumsy, but real, as DeAgostini's blueprint of the galaxy...

Would kind of give our project a 'unique,' look, perhaps....

Good, Mask, cool map. I just missed one planet from it, Adumar... NJO maps put it between Vortex and Nirauan... Another thing why does the close-up of the Coruscant sector appear black?.

Adumar's missing ? Oh well, we'll just have to be creative

The NJO map varies between books, and i don't mean the zoom ins and shading, different planets are included on different maps, so how about a consolidated version?

Yes, the NJO maps change, Adumar and Ansion, appear in the Rebel Stand map.

Mask: I couldn't see the close-up of the Coruscant sector, with Corulag, Chandrila, etc...

On the net I found a map from DeAgostini that included the zoom in, as well as a chart with hypèrspace distance. 22 hrs from Bakura to the Yaga Minor or something. Pehaps it's just something iwht the German version.

Oh you mean that trade route stuff and the close-up on the lower right ... errrm I cut that off, cause I thought we wouldn't need it

I mean, on that trade spine and on the close up the planets are aligned in a way that they are not in the real StarWars galaxy, there they are set up like pearls on some cord

So that's why I cut it away.

Yup, got that one as well in the first edition of it as well. I just took the smaller one, cause I could bring it on one picture with a still small enough filesize.

 

Should I snap all these pieces together and upload this one instead ?

maybe a little bit smaller sized so it can be used for galaxy overview?

This is exciting stuff guys! I believe the original RebEd advertised itself as playing the game for the first time again, or something along those lines!

 

Having a completely different map in rebellion would be the most visible way of achieving something unique!

 

I also reckon it would look better.

I was thinking though to make a new galaxy backdrop (the bg picture), maybe if I knew what the shape of the galaxy was I could attempt something in photoshop or 3ds max Unless someone else already did something?

Remember guys, it's also about how easy it is to use, and also, we are actually quite limited due to the sector boxes in how far we can actually make the planets fit the galaxy.

I already reshaped the galaxy after this new maps. I didn't use all the planets there, because I didn't know what had happened there, sometimes I added names from the books I knew I could locate. Books from Allston's books are int eh Quelli sector, near Dathomir, deep in Zsinj space for instance Storinal, Halmad, etc.

Anyway I have a big empty spot in the upper side. The Unknown REgions, and I have a huge conglomeration of sector in the lower side, the Slice, the new Force Heretics series is dealinga lot swith the unknown Regions, so we could, if we waited, build a sector in the Unknwon REgions. But that wouldn't be in sync with the Thrawn period.

Should we alter the background and just focus on the slice? Or have that huge empty spot up there?

 

BTW, that first map is in Dutch, not German, sadly I do speak German, but not dutch.

That second map has some nice features like mentioning certain sector names, but I don't see how much use would they be if a Rebellion Sector can span lots of other sectors. One Rebellion sector of my included Bastion, Dantooine, Helska, those are from Braxant, Rioballo and Danlobian, sector. Waht name do we use then?

If you send me a copy of the Dutch map, Ill translate it into English for you.

On the other hand, it seemed easier to put the eight English pieces together, since the Dutch map was made up out of 8 pieces as well. Now that I have put these eight pieces together, where should I send it (i haven't any webspace). Perhaps Igor or Evaders have got some ideas?
