  1. I don't mind paying for high price updates. It just makes little sense to not be able to remove underdevelopment tax. I have no problem with the cost of upgrades. Its when you can't even develop some of the plants thats strange. The problem with putting sometimes a 6 tactic slot limit is that you might as well not put them there for some planets... no ones going to waste credits on filling it up for a mediocre defense. least with the normal sins slots they slowed fleets down a bit. Neither of these 2 changes make sense canonically either. high value planets are usually bristling with defenses and I'm sure if you throw in enough credits you can upgrade any planet

  3. True that, I guess it makes sense. What about planet development? Imo with late games, we should be able to fully develop any type of plant at the very least to erase undeveloped tax. Tactical slots are another thing, if mining is unrealistic, Theres going to be a huge need to more tactic slots. These are my main problem, having just a few structures on key defensive asteroids is just not enough. Most sins maps place dead asteroids/asteroids near some key chokes so getting rid of their tactical slots forces me to make a separate version of every map i want to play with SoGE. having 6 slots near an asteroid literally means no tac structures are going to be build unless the map is small enough to make a planetary shield viable. on large maps, no one builds any tac structures on asteroids due to the fact that your just dumping resources better spend on more ships. The most I've seen is a repair platform for a heavy choke with a backup fleet/starbase. Also whats with the fact that you can't colonize dead asteroids? Some chokes use those 2 -.- Don't really quite understand your third statement. From every book I've read an interdictor powers up, and creates an interdiction field (gravity well) and nothing inside of it can jump. So I don't really understand why putting the 700% ability is undoable. If there isn't an actual "interdict" then why do we even have the ship in the game? As for the mines, at the least you could have those mines wasted on those ships instead of your main fleet. From my experience as well the mine detectors ability to kill the mines isn't very good, and takes too long, so while they do have the function, I feel they aren't really able to perform it very well. Same, I was under the assumption that GWGs in sw just made it impossible to go into hyperspace and ships in hyperspace come out. (Thrawn Trilogy) Lavo you taking a look at those defense ranges?
  4. frigates never see much use in my games, with the exceptions lavo listed, along with the tarkin and lancer. One thing I just noticed was the really short ranges defense platform has. IMO these ranges should be greatly increased. To me it seems that they have normal sins range, but because of the bigger zones around planets, seem smaller. (some of the abilities too have this issue, like slave rigging) Also what was the rational with reducing mines to 30? one of my only ways to funnel is now gone edit, just noticed, some planets can't even be upgraded to get rid of underdevelopment penalty. Is this intentional? I noticed desert planets having the worse of it. I think you should just bump the cost of such upgrades as given sufficient investment any planet should be able to be developed. Another thing is, planets that have zero constructors, once you lose your 1st one, you would have to abandon the planet and recolonize. This becomes really bad when such a planet is a fringe world. The drastic logistic and tactical slot alterations should be redone closer to vanilla sins imo. the tactical slots really limit fleet deployment possibility. A decent sized fleet can punch though any defense anyways, and what pitiful defense 6 tactic slots offers...might as well not bother and save the credits for better things.

  6. If you buff the current one with some more regen and maybe speed, I think it'll do fine. Imps do have a a bit of a slow start.
  7. Any plans for more unique tech trees? A great way to balance empire vs NR is in the tech tree. Don't remember what novel/book I read but it seems that most of the ships designed has a huge amount of design flaws. Seems like having the empire pay it off in tech refinement/research sounds like a good idea. (also revert ssd )
  8. I just got back for a huge workload and can play sins again Imo the SSD should just have its cost increased, not have its defense nerfed. Part of the fun of playing as empire is maintaining an empire to get to it and part of the fun of the other races was trying to force the empire not to build it too soon.(pre nr) And as a personal note, having it cheaper really defeats the feeling accomplishment of getting it out ;P

  11. I never said formfitting indicates less technology - it just looks worse all around. As for canon, when the movies don't address an issue but the books do, it's still canon. But it wouldn't be wrong for them to not have them either I personally like an unobtrusive shield, like the faint kind or reactionary .
  12. Novaliths were basically world devastators(or the galaxy gun, dunno which is which) Since that mechanic was already in Sins, I don't see a problem putting it in here. Although if would make the empire very op on choke maps.
  13. Theres a new version out? xD In the movies you only see shields when a ship is under a hailstorm of fire. there are little opaque flashes. Regarding cannon, Isn't movie cannon a tier higher than EU? So if your wanting to be cannonically (that a word?) correct, go faint/no shields. btw how does formfitting indicate less technologically advanced shields?

  15. Iron Fist, download the addon to the mod that was posted under the 2 gig limit fix topic. It fixed the strings not founds
  16. Nice, ty. I don't even have time to play. I'm gonna plan a 5v5 soon during the week I get off so I can properly comment on all these if anyone knows how to set the gamespeed in multi, I would love you. I heard diplomacy had this option >.< so if it can't be done update this mod and just chunk out the diplomacy xD. (at your convenience ofc, i realize all of you guys are busy too)
  17. wow really? I'll try it when I have time, school is already in for me...essays...those damn essays. My only grip now is that you can't change multiplayer speed in entrenchment. Anyone know if its possible to set it permanently to x2 or x4?

  22. I like the SSD, simply because when u place in into a planet with adequate defense, the planet is basically undefeatable.
  23. I realize that the sizes are canon, but sometimes when I see the fleets duking it out, I kinda wish i didn't have to zoom so far in to watch a battle. Granted I'm playing this on 1920x1080 so things do seem smaller, but after trying out the requiem mod, it just seems that the tiny fleets strain the eye a bit . I understand that you are trying to keep everything in proportion, so is there anyway for me to increase the size? The size is also what makes the range of some of the abilities seem so small. the repair bay, flak burst, and tractor beams for example all seem to have normal sins range in a enlarged playing field.
