  1. Well, I got decimated there - although I have to admit I had no time to manage my fleet other than moving it slightly and setting up some priority targets. From what I can tell, this is also where it went wrong - as I set the ships to fire at priority targets based on ship type (like the small cap, med cap, small craft for the CRRCK, etc), it ended up causing some chaos, where units ended up targetting (and moving against) units that were way too far away, such as Antilles' THRNTA's which were hundreds of kilometers away. But well, I'll be back
  2. That last bit somewhat exists - you can click on the ship, get on its status overview screen and then click on the acronym (like LFRG or so)
  3. Nice, that definately will help A quick search on google found this: http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html Allows for a little bit more messing about with colours (although Im sure there are much better ones) Small request about the logging, you could log it as REPORT.<# of the current turn>..txt ? Makes it a bit more readable. and easier to look up.
  4. Very true about the (H)TLBs - they aren't meant to be anti starfighter. You can also see it with ships made for certain roles (for example LFRGs). It's still funny to see them trying to shoot them at that range though. RGUNs are slower than snails, they are nicely armed but they are just too slow using jumps in my opinion. But, they are quite strong, so that's ok. BTW are any of you using scout vessels? I did get several of them and they do seem to make detecting things much better.
  5. Two UI questions: - The debris colour is quite similar to the Neutral colour (and some lines to the Enemy colour), could this be changed to set them appart more? - The colour of the units in the formation window (dark grey) makes them hard to see, especially if you have a crappy monitor like me. Could this colour be set a bit ligher. (or perhaps even allow user-set colours in the long run)
  6. I can't say much about this, but Turg and Skyblazer's ships have been trying to shoot my TDs from a rather long range for 2 turns now. They don't seem to be hitting them though (fortunately ), which would make sense considering the range. At point blank they seem to be happily hitting fighters now though, but I have to admit that that fight was at point blank. Microjumps do sometimes seem to be a necessary evil considering the size of the sectors and they allow for the only way out of certain situations due to the movement being slow sometimes. But maybe to limit their effectiveness, maybe have a sort of "cooldown" for them on the larger ships.
  7. I do have another request: append the report files and perhaps even save them seperately (detection log, combat log, etc). It is a shame to lose the data when the application ends up overwriting it on a save/refresh. This would allow us to look things up a bit more easily.
  8. Welcome, just join us in the battle sector for fun - you can re-request ships anyways if it doesn't work
  9. It would be quite interesting to allow for more detailed orders for fleets (some default formations come to mind), but preferably those that can be used unattended as well. As for ship target priorities, could it be given defaults like "fighters", "small cap ship", "medium cap ship", "large cap ships" - this would allow for ships to prick their priority targets first, so you won't get a ship equipped with a lot of heavy turbolasers to use these on fighters, while a small anti-fighter ship like a lancer or so would go fire at the enemy star destroyer in stead of the fighters As for the combat sector, after having figured out some of the controls of GalSim, I guess I can move that way as well. I always wanted new ships
  10. I had a question about the turn processing - it appears that the server gets stuck in the END OF TURN phase for a very long duration, often exceeding several hours. During this phase, it isn't possible to actually do anything. Now the question is, is this mainly due to the turns still being processed manually or are there other things causing the delay? But it's good to see the "time remaining". Although as a suggestion, maybe an option to set a warning before the time is up to "save" things to avoid being too late to issue orders.
  11. Veterans is the proper description - it has been many, many years
