But how did you want to manage this? You could solve it by using a ship that has no hyperdrive, or something, but that is a waste of ships!

Easy. The model consists of more polygos so instead of ie. 100 pixels it is now 10000, so the original sys-reqs aren't relevant anymore. So it couls happen your computer is too slow to work with this.
