We've actually moved over to here: http://forums.swtow.com/ The community tried releasing a smaller mod which would shrink down the galaxy and install an economy, but it seems Freelancer is really just not up to snuff anymore, so the mod has been put on an indeffinate hold. The community is still strong though. We all play other games together, and Dev (Our mod lead) is thinking about creating his own game for Tides of War. However, I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Curious. Have you had more success converting over your models into the mod? How are things actually progressing? It seems a lot of people I talk to like Sins, but are actually more excited about this mod than they are about the actual game itself.

I'm incredibly interested in joining this project. I've coded in XML before, for Empire at war, as well as importing/rigging your ships to use in the Total War mod (Which was never completely released due to in-team issue). I'm also interested in map making as well as testing on a relatively high performance machine. My skills are basic, but I now have the time to sit back and really dedicate myself to a new project. The only other duties I have right now is testing for the First Strike mod and the Tides of War mod for Freelancer. I can be reached through this forum obviously, as well as on MSN and IRC (Which I use regularly). Hit me up with a PM if I'm needed. Thanks EJ

A lot of us over at the Tides of War community are excited about you porting Worlards over to this game. I, personally, see so much potential for this as a Star Wars mod. It's like Homeworld 2 on acid.

Any word on when any of this will see the light of day? Including the planetary pack?

Merry Christmas!

They look absolutely stunning. I'm really psyched to see this and the Kotor ships released. Good luck EJ. If you need a tester as mentioned, I could help you out as long as I get a small amount of guidance with the tools needed. PM me on these forums, and I'll get back to you.

EJ, any word on getting Kotor sides done? I'm itching to have some epic Kotor space battles, and was wondering if work was still being done.

The Tides of War mod, the one Arvis is affiliated with, would like to use some of your updated work as well. Is that alright?
-
Indeed. Also, when using the oldships.big combined with the Old Republic Tech Tree, the game crashes while loading the Universe.

Oh man, that's hot! I love the Kotor era vessels. Good luck with this.

I'm not normally one to pry about these things, being a modder myself. I've noticed there's been no defintive update in a month, and I was wondering how development on the next release was going, and what we can expect from it?

For the Empire, I usually build about 3-4 ISD's mkII"s, and flank them with a few lesser Victory Class SD's. I usually follow up with a swarm of Tie Fighters and Interceptors, with a few bombers to harrass MC's and smaller ships. As a rebel, I use MC's and Assault Frigates quite a bit, with A-wings and B-wings for support.

Hey Guys, Kampher here I've been apart of another Star Wars modding community for coming up on two years now, and we've finally decided to release our Beta to the community. Here is an excert from our lead Developer, Dev. In the works for a very long time, the Tides of War public beta has finally arrived! It is more than just a Star Wars total conversion; it is a roleplay system dedicated to enjoyability while remaining true to Star Wars canon. The Tides of War mod is carefully laid out to provide excellent gameplay balance while rewarding player skill and tactical ability. Because of the roleplaying system used by the ToW community, combat frequently involves large fleets of capital ships and supporting fighters, leading to rich battles laden with shrewd calculation and brutal combat. Tides of War is set during the height of the Galactic Civil War, around the Return of the Jedi. There are three primary player factions: the Imperial Navy, the Rebel Alliance, and Civilians. Members of the Imperial Navy and Rebel Alliance roleplay as small elements of their respective war machines and fight savagely over territories across the galaxy. Civilians roleplay as independents and are free to do as they wish, be it amass wealth, attain fame or band together with others to obtain power. In addition to regular gameplay on the server, the Tides of War community schedules roleplaying events every so often. These have special rules and can be considered analagous to a mission in X-wing or a similar game. Roleplaying events are usually linked together into larger campaigns which lead to major developments in the war, such as exchange of territory. RPEs nicely complement the unpredictable, spur-of-the-moment action normally seen on the server, leading to a well-rounded gameplay experience. To get a taste of what the mod itself has to offer, check out these screenshots; however, bear in mind that they don't do the gameplay justice. Please visit the Tides of War forums at forums.swtow.com and join our community. The download for the ToW public beta release can also be found there, along with server information.

Can we expect to see the Victory as well?

I would deffinately like to see the Victory Star Destroyers make a return, as well as some of the post-endor ships.

Excellent. I've been waiting for this for quite some time. Keep it up fellas! -
Enough is Enough. This is not YOUR mod. Raziel, Steiner, and the rest of the bunch have a right to delay the release of THEIR mod if a game crippling bug such as this one prevents users from enjoying a good multiplayer game of SAU. Many people, including myself, would rather see a fully tested, bugfree version released, than have to constantly check back to find hotfixes and such. SMG pays attention to quality and detail. If they didn't, SAU or AoTR wouldn't be as good as it is today.

Resurecting EaW Total: Realism
Kampher replied to Fetid Corpse's topic in EAW Hosted Community Projects
Aye, we finished all of our model conversions and updates, so we'll be using our own. But like Bex said, it is a possibility that you will see SAU units (Such as the Golans) within the next release of TR
