  1. wow.. i was just about to do that. and check.. man that saves me soo much time.. especially for particle effects. .or model sizes..
  2. ive seen that map used in a mod.. but .. again with the units u see on the main menu.. thats the shell map i was talking about in another thread.. generals had the same thing.. and they were easy to make as long as u knew how to do the scripts in the map editor
  3. we need some automated floating turrets like from the x wing alliance.. the ion cannon floating turrets.. ect ect
  4. u could simply make them really weak against them.. or simply change in projectiiles.xml the fact that it can go through shields

"False not quite sure what these do" I would guess it would allow it to attack other people along the way to its intended target.. think larger ships like ISD's that shoot at targets randomly until they get to waht they want to shoot at.. then they shoot at the object normally with one side of its guns.. the other side just shooting other targets. "MuzzleB_00 slots for the weapon to fire from, varies for ships " the reason it varies is because it is an actual part of the model .. but it is hidden in game u could use it more than once on a unit
  6. yeah i used to do that with generals.. and if i got a line of code wrong it would go Error ,, Blah blah blah blah.. game wont start.. and it makes a log of it.. that sometimes helps a bit but map editor pretty much tells u what is wrong. hopefully well get something like this in EAW
  7. have any of u guys noticed this.. i accidentaly left my game on .. (alt tabbed) and i changed a file.. relized the game was on and.. poof.. http://members.cox.net/swgbex/mod.jpg I dont know in what places it can be used .. .. such as in game.. when u are testing the object.. .would speed up modding sooo much more

  11. well modyfying the model of the planet is easy as pie.. made it the level 1 imp space station http://members.cox.net/swgbex/Hothspacestation.JPG its 50 units above most other planets.. (the z quardinate) and .. on the 2d map there is no visible diference in size or pos. to show a diference... If anyone knows the code to remove the glow on the space station.. please tell me But im lookin for where i can modify the code that lets me change what its able to build I know its possible because only some planets can build the hutt palaces thingys.. i dont know exactly what it is.. i havnt looked into the code for it yet.. ill look into it later

  13. cant u change that last # (the z quardinate) and make them higher or lower? 0.0, 0.0, 0.0 but i wonder how the 2d map will show z position
  14. i have already started doin this.. i havnt had too much sucess yet.. but im working towards it.. im using a venator.. since it would make the most sence.. its on the way .. hopefully
  15. i think we could do that.. i have no clue how we can make the planet itself appear right on the battlefield.. and not in the background :/
  16. i was hoping.. instead of a planets .. ground base... (ion cannon.... barracks ect) we replace it with space station stuff we could just make it open space tho ;/

I was fooling around.. and i foudn a little thingy that let me resize planet sizes.. i checked in game and i got this.. http://members.cox.net/swgbex/MiniHoth.jpg This gave me a good idea, and this is where i need help to see if this can be done scenario-1 Instead of a planet we replace it with a space station or some other space building.. and treat it like a planet.. maybe ground battle can be inside the buiding :/ Being able to buy buildings on the planet.. but instead of actual buildings.. these become hardpoints on the "space station" when in battle u can have a space station with all diferent types of things.. such as all ion cannons.. all lasers..all turbo lasers.. ect.. this might even be used to create hardpoints like a production area for actual units now the ground part i could be just an indoors part of the station.. only allowing troopers in.. (you can do that btw) or we can make it space only :/ the problem here is u cant really destroy it.. its a "planet" .. damn DS so thats the problem with that.. so we can make it so its "destroyed" when all the hardpoints are gone. then the space battle is over and it shifts to a ground battle with troops. scenario-2 MAke is like an asteroid feild.. u build a space station.. able to be destroyed and ect ect.. this would be easier to put into the game.. because... its already in the game.. then upgrading to a "pack" that u would like (containing difrent assortments of guns/production equipment) and then changing the space station to have specific hardpoints.. like upgrading a space station from level 2 to level 3 the problem here is u cant have 100% controll over the hardpoints and there is no posibility of land battles... although they might look bad since it would be hard to make it look indoors ish These "space stations/ space areas" could be placed in random areas in trade routes.. and allow you certain upgrades from "families" (if u ever play XWA u might know what im talking about), maybe being less costing starfighters or boosted torpedo damage.. ect ect.. even smuggling benifits.. tell me what you guys think
  18. well considering.. thats not just 1 model.. thats like 2 or 3 LOD's meaning.. 1 low poly.. 1 medium poly.. or 1 high poly.. i might be wrong since on the shuttle i only see lod 1 2 or 3 times :/ Also.. thats the ground shuttle right? anyways.. the poly..or verticies count will help a lot with people making their mods. and shooting for the right poly count :/
  19. i have also seen the main menu shell map.. it almost worked. exept i had alll the stuff from the main menu thingy
  20. maybe if u want realizm.. you should have more hardpoints the ion cannons.. those 4 on each side could all be 8 hardpoints or something.. it might be messyer or more confusing.. but realistic .. ish it could make the isd more powerfull while leaving the hardpoints as easy to take out as they are now
  21. Well since ur workin on that .. can u tell us an average poly count for lets say a fighter.. or a cap ship or a ground unit
  22. i meant to say 4.. i keep forgetting that it started on 4 and not 3.. since.. i keep thinking.. half prequel.. half normal .. i keep thinkin ANH is ep 3.. doh!

  25. if u read the code. it shows they at least thought of considering of letting it in.. :/ .. i guess lucas didnt like the idea of pre ep 3 CC
