  1. It actually make sperfect sense really. If your gonna suddenly decide to retreat with your fleet surrounded it makes sense your gonna get pounded. Hyperdrive isnt instant it requires plotting coordinates etc and during that time youd be very vulnerable. so delphi and the others got that part right on
  2. and i highly doubt the exspansion would go backwards in time as people are upset the game ends with a new hope.

  4. even better then all that is the fact it will enable putting lots and lots of new planets on the map. you place them by galactic coordinates and that would have been difficult if all planets were original size

  6. Early on especially they kept ships they captured or recieved through Defection but Mon mothma was completely against building new ones. The Super Star Destroyer was a case where she didnt even want to allow it to remain as it was the ultimate show of what the Empire was. In Rebel Dream i think the book is Leia and Han are surprised to learn the Lusankya still existed as even they thought it had been scrapped as Mon mothma ordered. Early on the fact they had captured Star Destroyers etc they couldnt afford to get rid of them they were major boosts to the Alliances military which did get beat pretty hard at Endor even though they won in the end.
  7. Not just that. Mon Motha ordered the Lusankya to be Scrapped after it was captured. You find in the NJO books that The Alliance command delibertly ignored her and kept the fact they were slowly repairing it a total secret. Mon mothma was opposed to using anything of the Empires as it was a symbol of the Empire. She was opposed to making new Imperial Class star destroyers etc. thats why you dont read about brand new ones in that period being made until shes dead. The Republic in alot of ways suffered cause of her views on that. had the republic kept up military might the war couldhave been far different.
  8. There are footprints but it requires you to have shaders on. your missing a great graphics experiance if you cant use full 3.0 shaders
  9. ive alwys noticed the map will reveal typically when the "officer" states the tide is turning finish them off etc
  10. Homeworld as far as Space battles go is basically the only game to use full 3d. Other games that i have enjoyed much more then HW 1 or 2 are 2.5d as some are calling it. Jupiter: The nexus incident while full 3d graphics is on a 2.5d plane and IMHO stomps HW2 in every way. The concept some people are saying of sneaking fleet in by coming overhead is complete idiocy if you ask me. If were in a high tech universe i highly doubt a fleet cause its a few degrees above an enemy fleet is suddenly gonna be able to sneak in. Sensors are 3d so all these "tactics" are really nothing more then a game failure to recognize the fact that such tactics wouldn't exist. Empire at War is great for its design. Fighters zoom up and down a bit on the plane and thats great and how it should be. Star Wars Was built on the battles of World War II and earlier. Ships moved in and lined up for the broadside barrages etc. There wasn't zipping up and down left and right in the movies for the capital ships. Ships moved in and hoped they survived. EAW to me captures the battles the way we saw them in the movies. Slow lumbering capital ships moved in and duked it out. Fighters are the ones that zipped around all over the place up,down,left and right. Some of you will fight to the death how great Rebellion was and it too had the 2.5d system even though it claimed 3D. Just my 2 credits
  11. So far i love everything about the game for the most part but Bombers I'm a bit uneasy with. Bombers are more effective at killing capital ships then other capital ships are. It seems rather strange they ignore the shields of a ship and do straight damage. Both sides have a counter to the bomber but if the Players are smart they'd just keep their bombers back tail the larger ships killed the fighter killers then send all their bomber squads in to finish the mess. Wouldn't it Make more sense for bombers to do shield damage greater then the lasers first then when shields down hammer the hull? It makes hard points like the shield generators completely worthless as they die in the first pass by a single bomber squadron let alone was 3 or 4 can do to a ship.
  12. My biggest complaint is Fighters missiles go right through the shields making shields worthless. dont even need capital ships to kill other capitals. Have all Bobmers and youll win
  13. this is not feedback. this is what you call Trolling. Feedback is constructive criticism or postive comments. he is nothing more then a troll who should be banned from the forums. He says nothing more then "This game sucks" and thats not constructive and should not be tolerated
  14. great to hear be it a patch thing or a future exspansion so looking forward to the full release it isnt coming fast enough :-[
  15. Pietts laser isnt that bad. it kills 1 hardpoint then disactivates and unlike han and chewie has along cooldown. falcon can have invulnerable turned on so fast
  16. I would expect alot of those planets etc would be something to come with release. alot of code isnt present in the demo for obvious reasons
  17. Delphi said that more planets could be added so if the data is there for them should be something rather easy to enable id imagine eventually. Hero wise id imagine they can be added too. if models and other parts missing though ti will require more work
  18. I dont think it balances it out. The A-wings are just too powerful. All imperial fighters are weak to the Awing so theres no fighter counter available to the A-wing. If One of the Imperial fighters was good against the A-Wing id say yeah the being free for the empire would be good balance but an A-wing squad will slaughter imperial fighters way too easy without dieing easy against 4 Tie squadrons
  19. I have to agre fully no Tie Interceptor is a very bad design decision. Having played with Awings in the mod it is entirely not fair the fighter advantage given to the Rebels. you can send 5 squads of tie fighters at one squad of awings and it will take them forever to even start killing the awings as they cant hit them for crap.
  20. Not just that Delphi Based on info from EBgames the Death Star comes with a Special Stand and is electronic with death star superlaser sounds etc
  21. SSD is 11 times the length o an ISD just an fyi. size wise its all upto seeing how the maps will be etc
  22. since they said red squadron must survive the fleet battle to attempt the death star run id say its not gonna be that easy. would be rather imbalancing to have a drop and dead death star killer
  23. Also noticed an invisible station over alderaan. causes a problem since fighters shoot at it i assume but it doesnt die?
