  1. Jeez man! You don't have to be so negative! Rebellion was crappy because it was made by people who didn't know what they were doing. This game is almost garenteed to be infinately better. It's made by the makers of C&C, in case you didn't notice, one of the best RTS games of all time, not some monkeys at LucasArts with a budget! Maybe you're the one that needs a "check upside the head"! This is going to be the best Star Wars RTS to date, heck, maybe the best RTS to date period, and not even LucasArts budget can stop that! Besides, if you don't have faith in the game, why are you on these forums wasting your time!?
  2. I totally agree with you. This is exactly what happened to the Star Wars Battlefront series. LucasArts rushed the hell out of Pandemic to get those games out with the DVD releases, and in turn we're left with buggy games with little or no support whatosever. They're great games, but the could have been so much better! I am not a huge mod fan myself, but sure I download 1 or 2 from time to time, and I can understand that people are upset over this. LucasArts is just turning into another EA wanna-be, to sell more mediocre titiles and get more cheap cash. I find it very disrespectful to the die-hard Star Wars fans out there like myself who know that LucasArts can do better. (a.k.a. KOTOR as i mention in every other post ) What exactly are the pop. cap limits? I've been hearing around 20, but can someone confirm? This DEFINATELY needs to be fixed. Star Wars is all about huge battles, and restricting this aspect is not a wise idea, and is not very true to the Star Wars universe. With Gamespy, that was not a wise descision at all. They have no idea what they're doing and how to please the community. Only now since the game has come out have the Battlefront 2 leaderboards been updated, and we're still waiting for our first patch. That is sad. Now it seems that they will be limited in the multiplayer aspect of this game as well. This is very dissapointing. Overall, I still can't wait any longer for this game. This is a dream come true for me to finally be able to command a fleet of Star Destroyers, (kinda geeky, but it's true) and I am really looking forward to this opportounity. But it sounds like LucasArts is limiting Petroglyph form their full potential, and this is very dissapointing.
  3. Definately spending the extra $10 on the Collector's Edition. If it has extra maps and more, count me in! I've also been looking for some awesome Star Destroyer wallpaper for my computer, so that'll be great too.
  4. You forget that Taris isn't a member of the Republic, unlike Telos. That would have immensely slowed down rebuilding not having Republic support. Speaking of other KOTOR worlds, I must have passed over it before but I just noticed that Korriban was on the list! Man I can't wait to have a battle in the Valley of the Dark Lords! That's gonna be awesome! I wonder if those ruins are still there seeing that they were already ancient when you went there in KOTOR. It would be kind of cool to have the enemy be attacked by Hississ. (For those of you who don't know, Hississ are known as Force Dragons. They are tainted and controlled by the Dark Side of the Force which makes them very aggressive.) Perhaps someone could mod them in?

    Test Your Hand!

This is a very fun game and great to test your hand-eye coordination. I can't seem to get past level 7 though.... http://www.winterrowd.com/maze.swf
  6. YOU BASTARD!! I HAD MY SPEAKERS ALL THE WAY UP!!
  7. OMEGA

    Who are you?

I like the idea of it being some sort of engine protecting upgrade. If they put Tantive IV in there, it should be true to what it looked like in Episode IV, not with some random thing stuck on it's @$$.
  8. Nobody needs diplomacy! Those Rebel scum don't want to negotiate, they're just terrorists who want to destroy the peace and oder of this grand Empire. Although, I would be happy to enter "aggressive negotiations" with them. Lol j/k , but I do think that it is dissapointing for them not to include diplomacy, but I think we can live without it until a future expansion pack.
  9. It appears empireatwar.net got an update as well. The webpage to download the demo is up, BUT THE LINKS DON'T WORK YET!!! How dare they tease us like this! One click away from the love of my life!!! LOOK HERE: http://empireatwar.net/media/demo/index.htm
  10. Lots of questions answered, you don't know me but thanks anyway! What could this mean? Im confused. Im really hoping for diplomacy so I can maybe "hire" the wookiees to my side instead of have them enslaved.
  11. These videos do look a little rushed. Maybe they could be busy working a something a little bigger.... like the DEMO !!! Im worried about Yavin IV... it doesn't look... jungle-ish enough. It does look a lot like Endor as someone suggested though. And I believe the X-Wings taking off from the ground could have been from the mission where you steal the prototypes. That's probobly why it says you're victorious as soon as they take off.
  12. First of all, I would like to say that I AM NOT flaming in this post, im just sharing my opinion. I do agree with most of the things you have said. The effort that LucasArts puts out on it's games in general is kind of lacking. But thats not the case all the time. Let's take KOTOR for example. Over 60 Game of the Year awards, exellent gameplay, great characters, UNBELIEVABLE story. How many times do you get to become Dark Lord of the Sith in a Star Wars game anyway? Save the galaxy or conquer it; it truely is up to your descisions. That game is by far, the best Star Wars title released to date, and Bioware did an exellent job. Keep in mind that Bioware had never done a Star Wars title before. That was their first pitch, and they hit a home run. Now if someone can do that with the liscense once, I believe someone else could do it again. Petroglyph, anyone? I may fall into the die-hard Star Wars fan category, but I am also an experienced gamer. I know a great game when I see one, and thats exactly what I see when I look at EAW. All we can do is trust in Petroglyph and the Force to bring us a title that will keep us coming back for years to come. Secondly, for what you said about Star Wars in general: I am sick and tired of people whining and complaining about the Prequels!!! My God, what do you people want?! George Lucas started something great in the 70's. It caught on and was an instant classic. He wanted to finish what he started, and that's exactly what he did, nothing more and nothing less. "But Omega, Jar Jar ruined it! Those people can't act! Blah blah blah...." It doesn't matter! Don't you see, that these films ARE Star Wars. A TRUE Star Wars fan would love them and exept them as they are: a part of something magnificent on a much larger scale. Were they as groundbreaking and breathtaking as the Originals? Perhaps not, but these films are still exellent and are fun to watch, just like the Originals were. I CHERISH my Star Wars DVDs. I LOVE THEM. How do you think they could have possibly "ruined" the original cuts? All they did was enhance and add to them! Was it nessecary, maybe not, but THESE ARE STILL THE SAME FILMS WE HOLD NEAR AND DEAR TO OUR HEARTS!!! You're complaining about nothing. You're complaining because now we can watch them with hi quality sound and picture, and a few minor scenes were added. Perhaps I will never understand as I wasn't born in that time, but I have seen the original cuts recently, and I saw the same thing I saw on my DVDs. I saw Star Wars: the greatest movies of all time. PERIOD. That's my little rant. Comments are welcome.
  13. Never finished?! May I ask why not, just curious? That game has the best storyline you could possibly imagine! You're missing out man! What happens to the Sith and Jedi literally depends on you and the path you take. You have a profound effect on the galaxy either way. It didn't win over 60 Game of the Year Awards for nothing man! Trust me, you want to finish this game!
  14. True, but a lot like Coruscant, the city covered the entire land mass of the planet. It would probobly take them a good while to build up to that extent again, if at all. And Malak's fleet was massive, although they only showed the Leviathan firing, many of the ships created by the Star Forge would be there, and if you've seen he Dark Side ending, you know that is A LOT of ships! Or, perhaps the bombardment could have had some massive effect on the environment itself. Entire species of plants and animals could have been wiped out. Oxygen levels would decrease with most of the trees gone, and it would have been extremely hard to live there. But then again, life is persistant. I mean, animals survived the mass extiction caused by a meteor here on Earth, maybe it would be possible for life to survive there too. If they did repopulate, I would like to think that the Undercity inhabitants that you saved (Light Side) would have something to do with that. Hopefully it killed all the rackgouls though . We'll just have to wait and see... [/i]
  15. Having played KOTOR numerous times, (Dark Side mostly ) Taris has become a planet I have become most intrigued with, especially since it's now confirmed in EAW. After Malak's total bombardment of the planet with his fleet, could something or someone have possibly survived on the planet's surface? Here is a quote from an article on Wikipedia: Could the residents of the undercity have survived and rebuilt this sprawling world? Or does it remain a wasteland, a lifeless barren plain with the remnants of the dead city eroded away long ago? (Keep in mind, that Malak had the Star Forge at this time, and that a massive number of vessels could have bombarded the planet.) Thoughts? Opinions? http://img312.imageshack.us/img312/8307/taris1cc.jpg http://img312.imageshack.us/img312/149/sithattacktaris0br.png P.S. Didn't the Dark Side ending make you want a game like EAW so you could finally conquer the galaxy with your immense fleet of warships? All hail Lord Revan!!!
  16. Mon Calimari is the first planet on my "Deathwish" list to destroy.
  17. Destroy Coruscant with the Death Star?! That's ingenious. I mean, you would only completely and utterly CRIPPLE YOUR OWN EMPIRE!!! We know your a Rebel sympethyzer "Thrawn". I still fail to see why you pick such an adamant Imperial figurehead for your avatar, and yet you support the Rebel scum enough to make completely idiotic decisions for the Empire that would prove to be useless in a game you're trying to win regardless of what side you're on! What is the point of this? Why would you want to cripple your own Empire? I love Rebels just about as much as I love diarrhea, but even if I were playing as them, I would still try my hardest to win and use every tool at my diposal. By the way, the Rebels wouldn't destroy a planet even if they had the Death Star (which make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE whatsoever), because THEY'RE THE GOOD GUYS!
  18. I posted the preview from my scanner in the "Previews and Screenshots" section of the forum if you want to read the whole thing. GI is an exellent magazine, and they seem to love it so far. http://swempireatwar.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1454
  19. For those of you who don't know, Game Informer is the post popular (and most un-biased in my opinion) gaming magazine out there. They previewed Empire at War this month, so I thought I would take the liberty and scan it for you guys to read. From what I see, things are looking exellent so far with not just Game Informer, but all preview and review sites. It's hard to tell from the scanner, but the graphics in the screenshots are "blow your socks off" exellent! We really have something to look forward too guys, and I can't wait! http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9430/eawpreview3pp.jpg
  20. #3, I think would be the best choice, seeing that we know so little about it. The "What's in the demo?" qestion would be a waste in my opinion, seeing that we will get the demo anyway. I like viewing my ships being built too, but I think this one is more relevant to the game.
  21. My Imperial fleet will be so massive, it would eclipse the sun itself. My fighters will soar through the skies like a hailstorm, decimating all who dare oppose my wrath, while the Imperial March gives me pure focus. It will be a glorious day indeed as my collossal legion of walkers scour the face of the planet, leading all who dare resist into utter annihilation... It will be a glorious day indeed for my Empire!
  22. Well, soooory if you think my question was "stupid". You know, it's not like anyone else cares about the Venator anyway. And that was not how I originally worded the question. I asked, "What is the fate of the Venator, and is it true it that it has been removed for possible future expansions?" NOT "Durrrr, iz da Venatur gunna b in?"
  23. No, that was one of the upgrades of the second Death Star was the ability to fire on capital ships, and the ability to recharge much faster.
  24. What is the fate of the Venator? Has it truly been taken out for release in a possible future expansion pack? I can understand if there were too many Star Destroyers and all, but I know me and a lot of other people just wan't to be sure.
  25. This is truely dissapointing. But I can understand them taking it out for release at a later date in a Clone Wars expansion pack.
