Venator is out... Officially
OMEGA replied to Grand Admiral Thrawn 889's topic in EAW General Discussion
Teradyn, how could you say something like that?! How dare you! You insult me, and at least half of the Star Wars fanbase. You are blind if you believe everyone under 18 are as childish and immature as you claim. You think im into Star Wars just because it "looks cool"?! I love Star Wars for what it stands for, not what it looks like. This 15 year old knows what you're trying to say, and I can see that YOU'RE the one that lacks the common sense to see that age doesn't equal maturity. You've lost my respect. -
Thoughts about Corusant and Rebel HQ
OMEGA replied to Ghostly_Substance's topic in EAW General Discussion
Since when did you become such a critic? Again, another blind statement. You still fail to see the only real thing that matters, which is the story. I suggest you judge that before you accuse it of sucking just because of the way it looks. By the way, it looked awesome and I don't recall Episode I and II getting awards, and those were just Star Wars. Back on topic: I agree that the Rebel base should be random as well, but it should be well out of reach of Coruscant and other Imperial holdings to start off. Then the Rebel player should convert nore planets closer and closer to the heart of the galaxy and take them over time, as opposed to just being on some random planet that could end up being right next door to Coruscant. -
If by "happy" you mean the Empire crushing the pitiful Rebellion into oblivion and spreading peace and order once more throughout the galaxy, then yes: Happy New Year!

Thoughts about Corusant and Rebel HQ
OMEGA replied to Ghostly_Substance's topic in EAW General Discussion
First of all: Oh, great. Another complainer. Clone Wars was a different experience for Star Wars but in a very good way. It was exellent and very well made for a cartoon. You're just too closed-mided to see that. And if you're going to make such a bold statement in the future ,*cough* EMMY AWARDS! *cough* I suggest that you at least tell us why you think it "sucked". Now on topic: I personally can't wait to play on Coruscant cause I'm a huge urban combat lover, and it is one of my favorite Star Wars planets. "Well guarded" is an understatement! If I was really an Imperial Admiral, I would send my entire fleet back there just to ensure it's defence. I hope I will never have to defend it, but if the Rebels get too bold, you bet i'll be there giving 'em Hell! -
Darth Revan: Dark Lord of the Sith. Nuff said. Quote Palpatine from Sith. Best line in the movie. Nuff said.

Ok Mr. Magic, you want a galaxy worth of planets? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT A GALAXY IS?! There are close to 100 billion billion stars in our own galaxy (if not, more) , and that doesn't include planets either (scientific fact)! Let's see you keep track of that many planets! Or why don't you mod them in like everything else you don't approve of?! You havn't even played the game yet and all you can do is complain!
-
Great news! I just saved a whole bunch of time and stress complaining about the smallest things in the game that I don't like by switching to OPTIMISM!!! NOW WHY DON'T SOME OF YOU TRY IT?! It seems that all some people on these forums know how to do is complain about the aspects of the game they don't like, and say, "Oh, well the mods can fix that!". What makes you guys so totally sure that this game is going to be completely and utterly boring and uninteresting with the pop caps the way they are? The people at Petroglyph know what they're doing, and they wouldn't be changing things if it wasn't for the well being of the game. The pop caps are just fine the way they are, and will offer the best mix of gameplay AND performance possible. Just have a little faith, and you'll enjoy the game no matter what!

Empire at War - The multiplayer question
OMEGA replied to Lonegunman1947's topic in EAW General Discussion
Empire at War will DEFINATELY have a multiplayer, man. It's been confirmed, double confirmed, and triple confirmed. I personally can't wait to go up against one of my clan members in a Galactic Conquest, and team up on the 8 player skirmishes. ITS GONNA BE AWESOME!!!! P.S. I just got Black and White 2 for Christmas, and I agree with you guys, it's a great game already, but multiplayer could have added a lot to the experience. -
Thats exactly what i've been tryig to get you guys to ask for the past 2 Q/A rounds word for word!! But no, someone wanted to ask the lamest question ever concived about how the speeders fly instead!!

New Preview from 1UP.com and 10 more screenshots.
OMEGA replied to RogueCommander's topic in Slag Heap
http://www.1up.com/do/slideshow?pager.offset=0&mt=0&cId=3137718&mId=2580129 Now thats what im talkin about! LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE!!! -
Wow! *starts clapping* You know your stuff man! Im impressed! These are ALL of my favorites as well, I just didn't think anyone would know what I was talking about! Come to think of it The Asteroid Field would be an exellent battle theme for EAW. When you said the KOTOR music at the end, that brought back memories. Maybe one more duel with Malak.... Good thing I created a save right before It starts! "The apprentice has learned his final lesson." EDIT: The Dark Side ending is the most kick ass ending ever, in any game, out of all time!!!!
-
Thats one of my favorites too! You were close on the name, it's actually called Battle of the Heroes, but A Hero Falls was the music video it was featured in. Very powerful, very emotional song pitting brother against brother in a fight to the "death". the winner of this post might get a special present from my personal library... so keep it up!

Music can be a powerful tool when you're trying to focus on something, especially video games. John Williams' music does wonders for Star Wars, and adds to the emotion of the films, as well as the games. So when you're going to battle in Empire at War, which theme do you want to hear the most? Which theme gets your blood pumping, your heart racing, and makes you tell yourself that you can't loose; that no matter what, you have to pull through for the glory of the Empire, or for the survival of the Rebellion? For me, it's all about the Imperial March. I think of it like an engine; pushing your Imperial forces forward towards inevitable victory. To me, nothing beats the glory and the power embodied in this theme, and all of it's varients that JW has created throughout the films. (Duel of the fates is a close second.) So, what music would you like to hear the most when playing Empire at War? I am curious to see what you guys know of Star Wars music, as well as what your tastes are. This subject is far too broad for a poll, so just type out what you would like to hear when you play Empire at War in the near future, and why you think it is a good motivator. If you prefer to listen to your own music, please type down what you are into as well. Thanks for participating!

Forgive me if someone already noticed this, but I seem to have found a screenshot disproving the 20 pop. cap limit. Take a look at this: http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/8139/fleet8oh.jpg I count 18 capital ships plus a few squadrons of fighters and bombers (correct me if I've mis-counted). Now, if ISD's were to take up more pop. cap points than other vessels, theoretically we would not be able to reach this number of ships at all. Think about it, even though there are only 2 ISD's and the rest are other, lesser ships, both ISD's would have to cost 2 points or more granted that they do use up more points, of course. Now that is too close to the 20 limit for them, seeing that there are even a few VSD's in there too. I realize this is a rather old shot and things could have been changed since then, but I think it is relevant to our current disscussion. Also, notice that there are far more fighter squadrons than capital ships, reinforcing the theory that fighter groups do not take up your cap points.
-
WOOT!!! That's not bad at all! Thanks DM!!
-
I honestly don't see whats so unimportant about the Venator. Why not ask the question now, or why not ask the question about the missing ships in general? The Venator, although probobly the most relevant, isn't the only ship that we think that has possibly been removed. I think it would be most wise to ask if it has been removed for possible placement in a future expansion. This question has been bugging a lot of people for a long time. Other than that, nice question list though!

Alright, the forums have been kinda slow lately with alll this depressing news, so let's try something new. Does anyone know if you have the option to tame the native creatures in the game? Give 'em the old stun stick treatment, then add them to your forces? I don't know about you, but I think a rancor would make an exellent anti-infantry tool, although I think Rebels taste funny anyway... Also, does anyone know if there are Krayt Dragons on Tatooine? Ok, I'm smart enough to figure out they're not on the unit list currently, but does anyone have any plans to mod them in? Every since KOTOR, they've been at the top of my Star Wars favorite creature list. Suprise suprise, eh?
-
Ok, who voted no?! Time to get out the whoopin stick!

These maps needed to be in the game in the first place, and not in some damned Xbox only "expansion". They even have the nerve to make you pay more money for it! There is no reason they can't port it over to PC and the other consoles as well. It's rediculous and absurd! This says exactly how im feeling right now, plus a little Sith rage sprinkled on top: http://starwarsnoooos.ytmnd.com/
-
Sorry I double posted this subject, I didn't notice cause I was so angry. This has to be the best expansion LA has ever come out with (not saying much), and now 3/4 of the community has no access to it. THis pisses me off!! This was everything that was missing from SWBF2 in the first place!
-
Sorry man, didn't notice in my burning Sith rage!!! My apologies.

Grab your pitchforks and torches Battlefront fans, have a look at this! http://www.starwars.com/gaming/videogames/news/news20051219.html Once again, they are showing complete disregard for they wants of the community! This was everything that was missing from the first Battlefront, and now PS2, PC, and PSP users will be cut out of the mix! This has to be the best patch LA has released to date, and now 3/4 of the Battlefront community has no access at all to it! Not only that, but you have to pay! HOW MESSED UP IS THAT?!?!?!?

EMPIRE AT WAR FAN BASE GETTING ANGRY!!! EMPIRE AT WAR FAN BASE SMASH PUNY MONEY LAUNDERING LUCASARTS!!! http://img400.imageshack.us/img400/729/fp121420the20hulk20punch4ow.jpg I agree whole-heartedly. LucasArts did this twice before with the Battlefront series, and now it looks like they're gonna push Petro to keep this one from it's full potential as well, for the sake of profit. Don't get me wrong, I love this game and im buying it no matter what, but I've had enough of LA and their BS wagon!
-
*Jedi Mind Trick* You will tell us the release date for the demo, Maul. Lol j/k, this news is a little dissappointing, but hey, at least the game hasn't been cancelled all together or something horrible like that! Right?
-
I can understand if they need more time, but you didn't have to go and say that today was gonna be a good day when it's gonna be bad news! Now im all dissapointed, and im gonna fail my mid-terms tommorrow!
