Actually, Kamino is in the game. It's of course a water planet much like Manaan.

Re: Engines destroyed, movement still?
OMEGA replied to Jmaster3265's topic in EAW General Discussion
It's called inertia. Haven't taken physics yet? : "An object in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by a equal or opposite force." Since there's no friction in space, things will keep going until something slows them down. -
Be sure you actually put it in your GameData folder. Once it's in there, click on it (the one you just placed in th folder called "swmod") and it should start the modded game. Would it be possible, seeing as how they're so weak right now anyway, if you could maybe lower the price a little on the Venator?

http://media.pc.ign.com/media/713/713904/img_3354981.html Here it is people! I'll let you read it for yourself, but it's apparently a mix of the several ideas we came up with a while back. They must have suffered some permenant environmental damage as some of us suspected, but it appears Taris will never be what it once was. It looks to be a major pirate stronghold as well. (Read the full preview from IGN here: http://pc.ign.com/articles/684/684287p1.html)

This happened to me too when I forgot to put in the hacked .exe file and use it. Be sure you put the file "swmod" in your GameData folder and click on it once it's in there. That should start the fully modded version of the game.

IT'S NOT FAIR DARN IT!! http://www.starwars.com/gaming/videogames/news/news20060127.html Bespin, Kit Fisto, Asajj Ventress, Yavin Temple.... WHEN DO WE GET A PIECE OF THAT?! Asajj has like light-numchucks! It's awesome! Kit Fisto throws water balls! (better than it sounds lol) They'd better be throwin that expansion our way, or else there's gonna be Hell to pay...

Not quite. Remember the end of Sith? Three grey Venators. And also, they're in the Empire Mod as grey. I think it looks great and helps bridge the gap between the Republic and Empire. Star Destroyers look all around awesome colors or not!
-
You forgot the mighty Imperial Star Destroyer!? :o Not only is it the symbol of the Empire, it has to be the best sci-fi ship ever conceived! Blasphemy!! > (The Enterprise can kiss my @$$ compared to that thing!)

CnC, you've taken the words right out of my fingertips. ;D If people would stop whining over every minor inconsistency and just enjoy what the game is, they would find that they would have a much better experience. It's a shame what most of the RTS community has become, and it's too bad that people don't respect the hard work that the devs devote their careers to. Too often people just bitch and moan about whats wrong without complimenting on what's right. You guys know who im talking about... :-\

You obviously didn't hear all of the voice acting, because if you actually took the time to play the tutorials, you'd notice that they are expertly done. I won't name names, as I don't know them all, but you'll notice that people like Mon Mothma, the Imperial Officer, and definitely Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison?) sound very expertly done and are very recognizable. Please take a look (or a listen) at the whole picture before you judge it based on a part! ;D

For some reason, I can't build Imperial Class Star Destroyers. All I get is the two that come with it. Also, I am not able to build an officer academy. Can you fix these minor problems, oh Imperial mod master? ;D
-
Yeah, I don't think they finished the Twi'leks in time for the demo, so just to give us an experience with the native species of a planet they put Jawas instead. Which makes me wonder: if Kashyyyk was completed, wookiees and all, why didn't they use that one instead? ??? I guess it was because of planet variety in that we have already had Kashyyyk in the tutorial. Oh, well... :-\

I get this exact same problem too. System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 HP Pavilion Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.70 GHz 1.0 GB of RAM ATI Radeon 9550 Description: Game freezes, minimizes, and a window pops us saying the following: On rare occasions, it crashes and restarts the computer as well, but I'm guessing that's a system problem seeing that it happens on other games too. Anyone know anything about Paging File Size? If so, what would you reccomend for my system?

Demo Feedback - Okay, but not *great*
OMEGA replied to a topic in EAW Issue Reports and Tech Support
I never said I liked everything about the demo, nor did I state that it was perfect. Flaming? More like anti-flaming IMO, but I will heed your warning because I don't want to get on anyone's bad side. Plain and simple, I think that people who criticize the game do so under the circumstances that the look at the good and the bad points in order to form a more balanced opinion. That's all I have to say. -
Re: Are You Still Planning on Buying Game After Demo/Mods
OMEGA replied to Nevets's topic in EAW General Discussion
Gee, I wonder... : >>>http://pff.swrebellion.com/index.php?topic=1937.0 It's a shame all some people can do is complain without any positive feedback whatsoever. The game isn't perfect, but it doesn't need that crap. That has to be the most negativly depressing thing I've read since The Raven. -
I love the demo Delphi! Great job, can't wait for the full game! I'm sure 99.975% of the people on these forums agree with me, although there is a small percentage that can only comlain.

Demo Feedback - Okay, but not *great*

Im not trying to start an argument here, but I read your post and all I saw was complete disgust and negativity with the game. I have yet to see one positive comment from you JediIgor, regarding the magnificent work of art that Petroglyph has created. I would stop clamoring over Rebellion's rotting carcas, cause it's time to move on to something far more grand and innovative. This will become one of the most innovative RTS games ever concieved, and not even all your whining and negativity can prevent that from happening. > P.S. Im 16. > -
You've just made an Imperial very happy. Thanks man. ;D

Exellent find! Multiplayer sounds exiting! I can't wait to play it! There's a new video along with it too! ;D EAW is still #1 in rank on not only PC, but all systems! :o :o

Close to 60% of the game's fans are Imperial (such as myself ;D), so naturally Petro wanted to keep the suspense going till the full game for the majority of the fanbase. I had a great time on the Imperial space battle tutorial even without the ISD's! I almost have a hard time believing it myself! Man, I can't wait to show those scum a lesson or two!! *wishes he still had the "twisted smiley* Perhaps they're fixing it after the demo release. Awesome weapon either way though! Well, that's why it's important for the Rebels to not let the Empire build it in the first place! (Take and hold Geonosis and Kashyyyk.) It's also important for them to kind of be on the low down at least until they can form Red Squadron. Everybody's saying it was disabled in the demo for some reason. I can't think of a good reason why they wouldn't put it in there.

The Acclimator's designation as a frigate is correct. It may have been a battleship in the early Clone Wars, but times change and newer technology is developed. It was rendered obsolete as a battleship because the newer technology in Imperial Class Star Destroyers were far more powerful. Thus, it still serves a valuable service as primary troop transport for the Imperial Navy.
-
Here we go with the mods again. Who are these people? Most EU sources are unreliable, and George Lucas himself says that only the films are considered canon. If the MOVIES aren't canon enough than I don't know what is. Sure there are a couple made up units like the Tartan and the Marauder, but that's to be expected for balance. The ship stats are perfect the way they are. If you're referring to the Acclimator, it's designation as a frigate is correct. It was rendered obsolete as a battleship because the newer technology in Imperial Class Star Destroyers were far more powerful. Thus, it still serves a valuable service as primary troop transport for the Imperial Navy.

9.5 Playing this game was sheer bliss. Only a few minor things need to be worked out, which they no doubt will by the time the game comes out. The game looks absolutely GORGEOUS and the Star Wars experience is all there. I can't wait to get my hands on this game as soon as it hits the shelves. (After playing this game, I have rediscovered my love for the Imperial March! ;D ;D)
