  1. With how many heroes there are on both sides and them not killable, I think you will see atleast one side have a hero in every battle. As for their special abilities, the only ones that really matter to gameplay that we know of is luke and the droids. You solve this by the quickest way to get technology is by stealing it with the droids. But if you can't use them there should be a rebel research center that takes longer. More realistic, the rebels researched more tech than they stole. For luke, he should be the only one that could possibly not die. But if he could there could be a death star trench run researched attack (think Rebellion) that you can send any squadron at the death star. If you think about it the only reason Luke destoryed the death star is because Obi-wan died. If Obi-wan doesn't die you shouldn't be able to destroy the Death Star. As for the Emperor and Mon Mothma what is the point of having both have the same power? Both sides are still in the exact same situation. Being able to kill one of them would give your side the advantage in the game. So 1) You are exhausting your forces to kill that hero 2) You are defending your hero like hell.
  2. They have time to put it in, I don't see why the can't. It can't be that hard, especially when I bet a mod will have this feature in the first day of release. This is something definitely needed for immersion reasons, especially when other roleplaying features such as unit experience and character development aren't in.
  3. After playing the demo do you still think there should be hero death? I say yes, they were just too powerful. If you are using that much power you should risk losing it.

  5. As just posted in that other thread I agree with you. Heroes are very powerful. So powerful that they are almost undestroyable. I was taking down whole fleets with one hero. Now I don't agree with them losing their powers, I find them fun. But I do think there should be hero death to solve this problem. If you abuse it you lose it
  6. Also since the Falcon was so hard to destory in the demo, it seems it will be quite difficult to lose it, if you use it wisely. Since this is the case I don't see why if you keep on using it over and over in every battle it can't be destoryed if you use it too much.
  7. As much as I would love the interceptor to be in, you have to remember that the imperials ships produce free ties. That is unfair to the imps. So does these to unbalancing cancel each other out?
  8. The hyper gun has the affect you want, just coming from the planet....if only there was some way to program to change the color of the laser and have it come from the death star.
  9. Those playing the mods know how deadly this thing can be. While I'm sure that in the real game its turnover rate wont be close to the no recharge rate in the mod, it still will be a force to be reckoned with. It probably wont be to dangerous to me since I am imperial, but I will still have to deal with the ion canon. So how do you deal with this? Are you able to raid the system to get to the ground to destroy it? Or do you just have to send a huge fleet that you are willing to sacrifice to beat the fleet in oribit before the gun can destoy you? Would be fun to have infiltrators that you could send to sabatoge it.

  13. Hmmm I think it being a pirate vehicle would actually be a real nice fit for it in game. EDIT: Am also glad it will be one of the first things to be modded in, was by far my favorit unit in the game. All my fleets had one.
  14. Wow this is extremely interesting if true. Some of these planets would be really interesting to have in game: Hapes-Hapans Honoghr-Noghri Lwhekk- Ssi-ruuvi Rakatta-Believe this is the star forge planet. So this could mean a number of things 1)These were originally planned for release, but didn't quite make it in for release. 2)Some files were put in the game to make it easier to add them in a patch. 3)They were originally planned for release, but due to balance/game taking to long to play, they were cut. Anyway I would expect these in eventually. If I had to pick which one I would pick number 2 is the reason. They are probably going to be patched in. I think other planets such as the EPIII planets/Dathomir/ and Chiss will be planets included in the expansion. anyway, very interesting.
  15. Yea that happened to me a few times, it was mainly because I clicked on the planet I wanted to send too, but i didn't "highlight it" and they were sent to the last planet I was looking at. Since it was only the demo it didn't bother me too much, in the full game I would be annoyed. The only thing that will probably prevent this is just saving the game often.
  16. Yea sorta annoys me as well, originally thought, "hey, maybe the didn't finish twi'leks yet", but why would they include a planet in the demo that wasn't finished yet?
  17. I was worried about this at first, but after playing the mods, I don't think they endanger petro at all. Its not near what the full game will offer. And you have to figure Petro knew what they were doing when they put this stuff in the demo, they know the skills of modders.
  18. From looking at others' reaction to EAW on another forum I post at, it looks like roughly: 20% find the game boring 20% Seem interested, but were hoping for more of a Rebellion game. 30% Love the space battles, dislike land battles. 30% Can't wait for the full game to come out.

  20. What do you guys think? To me it is looking like it could be the best star wars strategy game, it not it will definitely be on par with rebellion and fill that niche.

  22. So question is with petro actually somewhat encouraging us to play around with the game and finding these files what is their motive? 1) are they testing out the modders' abilities since the game is "modder friendly"? 2) is this more along the lines of a beta test than a demo?
  23. I didn't see him look in there (not that I was spying or anything ) There is a lot of useful information in there for him and would hate for him to miss out on it.
