  1. And don't forget to go for rocket/torpedo launchers first, then go for lasers and ignore ion canon batteries. In fact you can't take them down before your shields are (taken from my personal experience), so in direct capital ship combat it's useless to go for them because when shields are down ion cannons can't do you any harm. Correct me if I'm mistaken And every SD has at least one Tartan near by
  2. The Electronic Sports League is proud to announce the start of the German Star Wars: Empire at War ladders! http://gfx.esl-europe.net/gfx/media/de/eaw/news/banner_news_420x60.jpg Today we are proud to annouce that we have just started Star Wars: Empire at War ladders at Europes major online-gaming league, the Electronic Sports League (ESL). Sadly the current leagues are one available to residents of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I don't know and can't tell when or if we will start international leagues for this game but perhaps some other national leagues will open soon. Be sure to check out your country at the Electronic Sports League main page. Electronic Sports League German Empire at War Section
  3. There has been an update to the Star Wars Databank. What's so special about it your asking? Very smiple: It features Empire at War units! For thos who don't believe it check out this! For those who want to discuss check out this thread here at PFF! Source: www.Empire-at-War.de (German)
  4. With EaW units! Check out this news here at PFF! As the topic title points out: Discussion goes in here!
  5. Okay I looked it up. Home One has, Mon Cals have not. But in the end shields go down very easily when fighting SDs. But thats my personal feeling. Don't know about the number of hitpoints the shields have.
  6. Already playing it since last week friday
  7. They have in the final version I think. I will go after it.
  8. Clear matter: BAN! And: Disable guest posting. There is no use then additional work for moderators in those.
  9. Preordered it at Amazon but canceled it two weeks ago
  10. What TIEs are for? Very simple: To bind rebel fighters in melee space combat and then bring you Tartans or Boadsides into firing position (rebel fighters really are like flies to those...) Of course these ships (Tartan, Broadside) don't stand long versus capital ships but you have to take care of your units. This is what in general is called tactic or in internet language "skill"
  11. I think with the release enogh new threads will pop up
  12. Most likely: yes. The lobby etc is already online.
  13. In general they are very aggressive. Even when they are outnumbered. But this might be because of the "easy" gamemode I'm playing right now to get to know the game
  14. Don't know where have that from... Nearly every planet is either guarded by Imperial/Rebel or Pirate forces so you first have to bring your fleet in (and should first spy on the planet. Interdictors and Gravity Well Generators are very nasty thingies...). Then you have to bring in troops. Conquering a planet always takes a lot of troops (far more then the defending ones) and those "Raid Groups which can be used by the rebels are not that effective. They only force imperial players to guard all there planets with enough ground forces to counter a raid (which is not that big. Only four units plus heroes). If this is referring to the Millenium Flacon: Yes this baby is very strong but surely not strong enough to win a larger battle by it's own. On Tade routes: Yes On normal routes: Not really The death star: Say welcome to the Star Wars snail...
  15. There is no working (100%) tool for this. But they are in development.
  16. I decited to bring you some screens I made. BUT: Do NOT give these shots to anybody who has no acces to the maw! This is just something for you to look at if you wish! Thanks! Pirates [Normal Infantry (They also have Plex) and Swamp Speeder] Pirate Walker Pirate V-Wing Geonosis (My favorite multiplayer map right now) Kuat (One of the bonus maps)
  17. Should be sorted by the date of thread creation and not by last post. Can be set in the Admin Controls I think. Just a short thought which came to my mind a few seconds ago
  18. Just for you to bump it! *Closed*
  19. I think this says it all. You know this is an "optional option". Its a little feature which is fun to use but does not make the game itself better (or worse). At least this is something very difficult to code because how do you want to tell a computer what is interesting and what not. In the end the game does not even know what it is showing right now. Surely not an easy task...
  20. Lets wait and see. We can only tell for sure when the game is out and we can test it online.
  21. Oh well I thought about it again and perhaps the answers is: "Maybe and No" *cough* Could not find evidence for the answers part one ("Maybe") and many menu entries speak for the answers part two ("No") If this is true it would be a shame but right now I cannot test it. *cough*
  22. These are all units which actually made it into the game. Maybe not exactly this way but whitout many changes.
  23. They are called (free translation) Die Winde von Pouls - The winds of Polus (2 players ground) Die Garnison von Ryloth - The garison of Ryloth (4 players ground) Gefahr über Ryloth - Danger above Ryloth (2 players space) Das Rennen um Ryloth - The race for Ryloth (4 players space) Die Kuat-Schiffswerft - The Kuat shipyard (4 players space) Other bonus material are two screensavers (crappy. Sorry for that...), four wallpapers (in three different resoltions), and 19 pieces of concept art.
