Hi Guys, It has been well over a month now since the QA was sent too us and I do greatly apologize for the delay. With new info having been released during this time, and many of the questions probably being answered, I have a request for you. Can we please get a list of the top 5 questions you guys would like answered and sent over to me ASAP. I would like to get these questions no later than Wednesday (12-14-05). This way I can have them answered and posted by Friday (12-16-05). I leave it in the hands of the forum mods to make this happen. =) Thanks
Finally, can units inside your shield attack the enemy outside of your shield? Yes! Keep in mind Shields are designed to block energy based weapons not projectiles (lore). Of course for aprice, we have an upgrade that can do both.
and if power generators can only be built outside of the shield, why would anyone want to build it? Myself and a few others designers just got done fixing this. Originally this was lore, but it was not fun. Now it depends on the map, some are in the shields some are out. The terrain will be tactical different based on layout. Enjoy!
I say the Devs need to do a little more legwork and save themselves the trouble of actually coming up with ships that can fill in roles that are already filled in by ships that are in the Universe. We have designs, Lucas didn't want them in. We actually have over 50, but they were cut down for quality. We'd rather have ships that are fun and have unique tactical abilities than munging in ships for the sake of having them because they fit the time-line.
But does that mean if i have one huge battle with thousands of troops/ ships, (and obviously alot of casualties), the speeches are gonna go crazy with "unit/parts destroyed" message? heck no! This isn't the 90's anymore. We have audio managers coded in that handle this kinda of stuff.
Maps, Units, structures, Scripts, textures, etc for the general populace. If you have C++ coders I'm sure you can get to the rest of the game (UI, new abilities, etc)
Make your own mod with that feature. We would appreciate that. UI is hard coded, no way to mod it unless you have some C++ coders on hand and can extract this data. I'm guessing you guys still don't understand what I'm saying. I'll wait until more videos are posted.
Hmmm... I bet that that means that it is a type of Hypervelocity or Ion cannon that can be put in space maybe... or maybe they can fire at the ground? Thats a long shot though. These are ground based weapons used as planetary defense against space ships. Remember Battle of Hoth? Ion Cannons firing at Cap ships. That is what these two weapons do. Nothing more.
Whoah! That's cool. If it's range is bigger than it's line of sight, it has to be overpowered. Not really... There is balance, you just have to know which tactics and units to use.
please, Delphi, just this once, is it like Rebellion? For the love of god, noooo. But there are some similarities. Our game has more in common with C&C and RTW. I think you'll find it to be a good blend.
That's a goddamn sick gun. I'm going to have one on every planet. Better save those credits. You'll be making tough choices since not every planet can hold the same amount of structures.
Ion Cannons and Hyper guns are built only on planets. They will not have a variation that can be built in space. It would make no sense since the weapons are designed to fire at space based objects.
Nope, not unbalanced. Obi-Wan is far more powerful than you think. Also, heroes are meant to be used in combos with other units. You can use them individually, but don't expect to wipeentire armies with one guy. Mara and Katarn are not considered Jedi in our game.
