  1. I think you missed the point of the question. It was about inaccuracies and how those inaccuracies effect gameplay. Rather than how defensible the powercore is. I answered the part about how easy there are to be taken out. What is inaccurate about how easy it is to take them out. In the movie it only took one AT-AT at full power. I don't read the books, tell me what is wrong with it. YOu have take the shields down before you can bomb and art. the enemy base and units with in it. The shields help defenders and bases. The generator is the only weak part. Can't have a perfect defense. Or I think the question should be re-worded then.
  2. Some games you can down;load the map right before you play it. And some mod maps you can play without downloading. I know all about how great mods help with longetivity. For example, the gaming market crashed in 1983 because there were a lot of bad games(I know thats not the only reason it crashed). I perfer that modders have to have some skills instead of none at all.
  3. Are you joking? A game like EaW doesn't need a lot of units, just a few for each major class. I don't mind if you can upgrade a class of ship, like Y-wing to B-wing, or a older vessal for a newer type. In a building option there shouldn't be a lot of ships that do the same thing. Having to much is a bad thing to some RTS games. Also if all the stats are different for each ship, it would cause a problem for balance. What ever they give us, will be good enough. You will have a wide variety in types of units. Yet them make their own units if need be. They are good at creating their own ideas. I would hate if mods were so easy, that anyone could make them. I say thins because there would be a lot of bad maps, mod maps, andmods out there. I love mods, but I hate bad mods. I hope it will be easy for anyone who does know how to mod. You need not concern yourself if modding is easy.
  4. Yeah, I am an American too.
  5. Yeah that was arrogant of me, but it shows how I feel about some people. I let other people's thoughts get to me to much.
  6. Those characters are so esoteric. It makes no difference to me if they are in or not. But since you people are SW fanboys, I bet you would want to see every possible character in the game. I know I would for stuff I am fanatic about. But don't be surprised if those characters are not in the game.
  7. The light saber combat isn't that important since it is a RTS. Its not like it will be "OMG, look at that saber combat, its so cool." I want to say "OMG, there is so much strategy depth to this RTS game."
  8. First off, yets try and kept things concentrated on EaW1. Personally, I would perfer if Petroglyph started their own franchise. Not even Star Wars. Making their own universe, is what they do best. But if EaW is a great hit (which it will be), there will be an expansion or a sequel. I perfer them to find something right for an RTS game, and not just because it had three movies about it. The best thing I think, is for them to make their own SW saga. They will be able use their own ideas to their full ability. Nothing is fact beyond EaW. An expansion will not start till the game goes gold or well after the game is released. Because they can not find every bugs, exploit, and balance issue in the game. Thats why there are patches. Also they will also release map packs and stuff like that. Kept it an RTS game. Don't add gimmicks like sim/fps. Put all effort into the RTS game. Play SW:BF2 to get those where they are not a gimmick. Sure, I don't have to use them but they are not needed in an RTS game and is a waste of effort for the Dev. teams. I want a great RTS game, not a game with gimmicks. I would hate to go over how much a 3D RTS game should not be in EaW. As always I can go on and on. But it feels like I am talking to a bunch of people under 14.
  9. Most likey it will be a single player only demo. Which will have example of all the new features in EaW. Also most likey will be a mission from the movies tp help get more people interested. I believe that it will not be the E3 demo, beause that would be a little old for December. But it might be something like E3. Multiplayer would be better for the beta test(Not saying there will be a public Beta). Also multiplayer demo for an RTS game are tricky, you don't want to give a gamer to much or to little. I would prefer that the Multiplayer be for beta or final game.
  10. Hopefully they start posting Dev Journals and stuff like that. Mostly likey when they reduce their work load. or they have more permission from Lucas Arts (The marketing deperment) to talk about the game. I assume this of course.
  11. First off, this is not a demo or gameplay preview. It is a trailer, trailers get people excited about the game; not to inform hardcore fans about the game. For any in game sounds you heard, were from the SW data bsae of sounds, the ones that are given by Lucas Arts to Petroglyph. Thats why some are off like Rancor and the Pod racing sounds. The scale is good. You need to see your heros stand out. Scale is never perfect n RTS games. RTS games that came from Westwood never had perfect scale, and they all had great gameplay. There is no problem with scale becasue this is an RTS game. It is off, but it is a RTS. AT-ATs trip over the wire like that. They fall forward, because that how the motion is going. If you saw the generator, you would have notice it was damaged. Also it was just a preview not the real gameplay. In the game you may have AA units and other defense for it. Its a trailer and you are to hear little in game voice acting for units. The Desert seen and planet view of the transports was from in older version, it was part of some the first previews for the press in video. They didnt change it out. If you look at the new screenshots, the detail in all ships have been increased. Can't put on TV let, since the game comes out in 2006. So much more I can say, but I choose not to, because no one changes their opinion.
  12. Targeting all subsystems manually seem obsolete. Also, there most likey be hot keys.
  13. Got to rember E3 is for show. 1. The ships need to explode fast, so screen is not full of debre when I select units. Plus I saw one SD blow up real slow. Targeting sub system is new to RTS games I play. Pause for RTS games is crap, it is not for a fast paced one like EaW. Go play a turn base game if you want pause, This is Real TIME stratagy. 2. That is to much detail, just let it blow up. This isn't a movie it is a game. 3. his is star wars and fire acts on how cool it loks, not realism. 4. Toearly to tell. 5.Names do not matter. Exp will come in time. Just wait. 6. The game is still in early dev, just wait. 7. Still early in dev, and they had to show someting, instead of the tank floating. 8. The Rancor was for show, to show what could happen in battle, they wouldn't be able to show it if it died in 5 sec. 9. I haven't seen theirs but calm down. Galaxy view isnt as important as gameplay. 10. Trade lanes are good for game play. It makes sense, You can move faster in trade lanes because you know if the path is clear. Those pats have no astroid bets or solar sytems in their way. You can think of reason why they can be there. 11. I am westwood fanboy, so I don't give a $*** about realism. And their fiction is cool with what they have done for their series. SW is so fiction of realism. Realism blow for sci fi RTS. This game isn't RTW, or is based on real life. 12. They should go back and play Dune II or C&C Dawn. --Same scale like EAW but Better graphics and animations---the game is still in early dev. --Better Space battles reality --3D space battling isn't that much better, and is to much work to command. You know how I feel about reality. --Better voices and game plot artistic feeling -- It is star wars, and vocies are that big of deal. 14. It will be the size it needs to be for gameplay. 15. To early to tell, and you have not played it. You have only seen small demos, you have not seen the real game in play. Stop trying to make a difference and just let them do their jobs which is to make the game. Grow up, complain when will have facts, not just small amount of info. I know we don't have much else to do but debate, but give it a rest. I also know how much you want to make a difference for this game, but it is hard I know I am a fanboy, and my views are extrmely bias to what ever Petroglyph decides. But here is what I think so far. I have seen no problems let, but there are things that we have not seen let. I feel this way becasue I trust Petroglyph 100% at this moment in Dev. Also it is early dev.
