  1. I think we should be more specific. I think for single player campign and one on one campign, the heros should die if it comes to that. Like they can't escape and death is the only way out. For a skrimish type match, you should be able to create more then one (but only have one). Also depends on how powerful the heros are on the battlefield.
  2. Most likey it will be scripted. But I think you can influance what you see in the script. Depending on enemy defenses, and forces sent. So most likey it will not be the same thing everytime. Most likey if there is a large empire fleet, you will have to go through them first. Also the Rebels must first steel the DS plans, or they would not know about the DS weakness.
  3. NP I sort of jumped on you and I apologize for that if you felt like I was attacking you (not literally of course ). If you want a strategy game, you probably wouldn't care for it, but if you like LOTR, you probably would. I like LOTR as previously stated, so I happen to enjoy playing it, but it is repetitive. NP. I have been wanting to get the game, but I been waiting for it to go down to $20.
  4. I see the shields go down when I shoot at them, goes down faster with bomber. I don't where to use the turbo laser, because I seen them fire, but not sure if it was done radomly. I haven't looked much in the ships for controls or something I could attack. I know I said there are little difference between this game and Battlefield, but I play as the Genral of the Confeds. And I ran through every clone trooper that came my way(Most were bots ).
  5. Everything feels like a cheap knock off of Battlefield. I know thw whole game play comes directly from Battlefield. But it doesn't do much new stuff. Also the whole battlefield feels caothic, not right; The feel in battlefield is smooth. Although I do Like the space combat, I just think it could have been done a lot better. In battlefield I feel like I really make a difference in the game. I know I am being hard on the game since it is just a beta. It still going to be a good game, just not a great game. How do you get the shields down on the enmy ships in the space battle?
  6. Oops I didn't mean I hate, it, I was kind of responding to the post above about it. I was just stateing that I haven't played it.
  7. Don't forget about madden. Charge 50$ every year for the game. Add just a few new fetures, and new team roster. Now it is the only NFL game. Also sports games are not as fun as real like. I go outside(yes there is such a thing), and play football, soccer or any other sport.
  8. There is another game I dislike. CounterStrike So little strategy, it is all base on reaction time. Way to simple. Battle for Middle Earth I have never played it. I guess because it wasn't a C&C game or Dune.
  9. Ohh right, games I hate. Well any Final Fantsy game or turnbase game. I just can't stand them. There are not any fun for me. I think turn base games are the worst kind of game play for a video game. Not a biggie, but why do they still have to number them. Give them real names. MegaMan I like the first two, but the next hundred and some are all crap. I don't see difference a new one and one that is ten years old. Any "The Sims" type game. I don't need a simulated life. I don't get the point in playing. Katamari Damacy My problem would be everything.
  10. I don't want this to be seen as flame, but they are my reason I like some of those games. C&C Generals Althought this is my least favorite C&C, because it was not one of the two main timelines that I loved, and for many other reason. I saw Generals as a test platform for the future of their RTS games. Everything was different about it, it wasn't like any other. Also I notice that they still had three similer faction. GLA= NOD, USA=Allied/GDI, China=Soviet. Almost seem like it was a test beofre the game that linked Red Alert Series and Tiberium series. I have to disagree with some parts. AI in almost all games is never great. Try playing on harder modes I assume. Halo Was one of the first console games to do a lot of things right for an FPS on a console. The multiplayer was great for Lan parties. The weapons were well balance and needed skills to use them right. Vehicles were done really well. The single player wasn't all that, but then what FPS are. The twist with the Flood was great. But I can see how some people can think it was just another FPS. MechWarrior 4 The graphics may not be all that, but game play sure is. There are so many different skills, strategies, and choices in the game. Skills are using different sizes to fight assaults. Head shots are hard to do buy can be done. Dodging enemy fire. Taken hits over youjr whole body, I rotate around so my enemy is always hitting a different spot, also keeping them off my center torso. Timing shots so the kickback on the enemy throws off your enemies fire. Noticing where enemy weapons are on enemy mechs. Rotating ares to shoot. Strategies are limitless. How you move around enemy and shooting weapon hardpoints off. Using flares in a heavy fog. Using passive rader so the enemy doesn't see you on rader. Heating up enemy mechs with flamers. Weapon set up on whatever mech you want. You could really put your own touch on the game. What works for you might not work for someone else. And another thing was a honor code, which you don't see much in games. If you leg someone onpurpose, some people will go after to you because you are dishonorable. I have a code which I fight by on the game to protect my honor. I could go on and on and on about Mechwarrior. I loved the mechs, they had a sense of realism, unlike all those Japenese Mechs I see. I just think it was a great game, and very under rated. But since it was a sim, many people are turn away from it. I really hope to see a MechWarrior 5, but Microsoft is for swing on 360 and using as many Dev. Team as they can.
  11. For anyone part of Fileplanet. "FilePlanet subscribers rejoice! The multiplayer beta of Star Wars Battlefront II from LucasArts is now available. Keys are limited so get yours quick!"
  12. I want to see a gun design. The remote just looks kind of stupid. Or just some different kind of grip. It does look better for an RTS then a a standard controller. The motion sensors would be the mouse pointer. 'A' button would be be right click, 'B' button for right click. Of course more can be done to make RTS on consoles to work in new ways. I would love to see a good RTS for the new controller. I know it's early, but I don't see it as great as mouse and keyboard. It may be better then the mouse, but not better then the mouse/keyboard setup. The keyboard makes all the diferent commands easy to use. Commands like all units of one type, groups, force fire, force move, and so many more commands that are used on the keyboard. As for the Revo. there are no know specs. for the hardware. We don't know. The graphics have to be a minium of Xbox360 graphics. But then again grapgics don't mean S*** next to software support.
  13. Of course they will have all of the original Star Wars music. But there will be a great soundtrack by Frank Klepacki. He is really creative will what he does. And has a lot of experince with RTS music. I hope I can buy the sound track when I buy the game.
  14. Well when I was playing that game, I played it on easy, and I always tryed to win my battles. For retreat, you press the button on the side bar, then a timer started. What ever forces you got to extract at edge of map, got to be retreated. Those forces turn into a reinforcement icon over the territory I retreated them to. I never got to use them because I battle somewhere else, and I forget the rest.
  15. I don't know how likely this idea is, but it would add an element of survival and attachement to your troops. That is how they did it in Emperor: Battle for Dune.
  16. Well not much is going on with EaW so, this site is only getting traffic from the regulars. Also it not like this fourm has much to offer for a game that coming out next year. I bet most of those people have only posted once or twice and never came back. People have the choice to vote or not to vote.
  17. Well don't retreat all your men, you know you woun't able to save them all, so leave some behind so the enemy can shoot at them. Also if the enemy has no rader or has not explored the map, your retreat will be concealed from your enemy. Also plan your moves, try and be five or more steps in front of your enemy. Just try and know what you have do for what can happen. Got to be ready for anything, and knowing what to do. This all helps in retreating because all your troops won't be trapped or taken out. I don't need it and not having it also forces people to have more stratgies. Also I don't see it being used that often. But then again it gives me a few ideas, but I can do them with out the backwards attack. Of course no one knows how it will be in EaW. But the capital ships take their time in turning. And tie fighters don't have hyperdrives.
  18. Most likey it will me an infantry only map or some passenger vehicles small ones. Or it will be an island like map, but with sky units instead of boats and hovor crafts. I think it should almost be infantry only, so it would be a very different map and ways of playing the map. Just going to have to wait and see.
  19. I think adding the part about WOL should be part of it because they will understand that more then anything else. All those mini question go right onto this one. I say cut it out too, but they voted for it. Not going to make any difference if we know. Would be better to go with the pace of the game, like I said above.
  20. Fixing the question so they are more specific and easier to understand. Best not take chances and make ot as clear as possible. Can be better Will large ships be produced in the open where they are vulnerable to attack while being built, or will it be out of sight in a factory? or Will larger ships be seen building, or will they come out of a factory? ------------------------------------------------------------ Mine is just an add on for this one, or maybe a replace some of it. Will it be anything like WOL? Something like a POL or PGOL (PetroGlyph OnLine)? ----------------------------------------------------------- The part about how easy it is to take it out is because it is an early build. Or you can put back in. In the final game it will be balanced and the pointless.
  21. 49. How does the Death Star work? You pull the trigger when it is in range of the planet. There is super laser that blows up the planet. How is it destroyed, Most likey the same way as the first Death Star. If you have the layout of the DS. Send squadrons of fighters down the canyon. Brst fighter for it would be a hero unit or geoup like rouge squadron. Destroy it before it gets made. Or lots of fire power. does it have defenses against other ships, Maybe, what ever is good for game play. What ever can attack it, there should be some kind of a defense. Weather it be from the DS, or one puts a defense fleet around it. and what happens when planets are destroyed? They have gone over this. All forces on the planet will be killed of course. All funding and supplies from the planet can not be used. But I think we should wait on these question. Because this is a major gameplay issue. Which might not be fully done let. And since there is so little know they are probably still working on what is best. They will tell us more in the Death Star when they are ready. Because of what it can do, means it needs a lot of work. I know what your thinking, thats why we need to know, but we will most likey not get a full answer. It would be better to ask a question we can get an answer for or a better chance. 60. I understand why you want to know more about modding, but first lets go for gameplay issue. That we can give feed back on. The question would be a yes or no answer. Also I don't think we would be able to effect the game with feedback on this. Either they do, or they don't. It sounds like this came from a rumor. and only rumors can't be trusted. (I don't know where you got the information on this)
  22. A. I read that, I just wanted to say it too. B. I know that the whole idea but it may be to strong or unblanced. With the size of the shields now, a force within the shields can react to an incoming force and a player can put their whole force where the enemy will come in. There are less tactics involved with the generator on the inside. I want more tactics involved then just a striaght up battle at the edge of the shields. It will still make the enemy fight on their terms, just there will be more tactics involved. THere would be more chances for ambush, counter attacks, flanking, withdraw and counter, and so many more. C. It's not just the core, it's the battles in the core. The way it is now snowspeeders have little room to move around in. Also battles would not be a striaght up battle at the shields, because there are more places that have to be defended and snowspeeders will have room to fly. The shields are to stop long range art, landing troops, and bombers. D1. We do not know how fog of war and shroud are in the game. The defender may see a lot, also can scout. We don't know how it will be, players may be able to put them next to each other. D2. The shields defense does not become mute if the defender uses tactics. The generator is right outside the shield wall. There are always air defense for incoming enemy aircraft, if you don't defend it, that is defenders fault. . D3. The shields offer protection from what it is suppost to be doing. They do have to worry about defender in the shield because they could be used to flank or counter attack. Or they may not want to go after the generator and for them. The generator doesn't have to be attacked first. D4. It is not balance when one side is very over powered. It is true that we do not know enough about game play let, but I am just going with what I have seen and going with that. Ans seeing what it can and will do for the game. But I don't thinkwe will get a striaght up answer for this question. Needs to be reworded or use an inderict question about it.
  23. Its not a bad thing for gameplay, it just it makes the gameplay different. I think it makes a more interesting ground battle when it is on the outside. You may notice that the shield radius is a whole lot bigger if the generator is on the inside. But in the game, where the generator is on the outside the shield has a smaller radius. If it is in the shields, then almost all fighting will happen with in the shields. Yeah I know people will still have units outside for flanking and ambushing. But it is smart to kept the units in so art. and bombers can't get to one's troops. Also wait for enemy to come in waves instead of fighting all of them at once. Every base that has a huge shield, will be a very strong turtle base. If the generator is on the inside, the radius has to be increased so turtling within shields is not a powerful way of defense. If the generator is on the outside, then there will be two things needed to be defended instead of one powerful defensive spot. Also the incerase in the radius will not be needed. I beleive that the armor is light in the vids so they can show off a scenario. Also you see very little defense around it in any of the vids. With it on the outside, there will be more stratgy then it being on the inside. Because an attack can be on the generator or the main base, which gives ideas like flanking, withdrawing, or fooling your enemy to think you are going to one but goto the other. This can be done with your way, but it all happens in the shields, which is less different because the disk and generator can be next to each other. I think it all depends on what Petroglyph finds best by gameplay wise. The only problem is that you say it is not the SW way. If anything they were told by Lucas arts the generator can be on the outside. ------------------------ The best question to ask are ones that do not give away any information about the game, but tells you have they will handly things. Their answers can be an inderect way of telling us something. I.E. There are a lot of Star Wars fanatics, who will tear apart anything that is wrong, how well are you going to please Star Wars fantics wothout alienating the mainstream? That example sums up some of the questions. It would be good to ask, since most of you need to know how much they are doing for you SW fans. But if we can figure it out for our selfs, we should not ask. Like are B-wings going to be in the game.
  24. Does Lucas Arts even go to TGS?
