A large engine system has also been added making the interceptor as fast and maneuverable as the Alliance's A-wing. TIE Fighter
TIE fighters make up the bulk of all the Imperial starfighter corps. The small craft has no life support mechanism, shield generators, or hyperdrive making them cheap to produce in large numbers. Armaments are restricted to two laser cannons mounted below the pilot's control pod.
