An improvement over the original TIE design, the interceptor incorporates the bent wing solar panels and mounts four laser cannons instead of the original two. A large engine system has also been added making the interceptor as fast and maneuverable as the Alliance's A-wing. However, it still lacks shield generators, hyperdrives and life support systems found on most Alliance starfighters.
