They even want to completely forbid so called "killergames". That means any killing action against humans or humanlike beings in a computergame shall be forbidden. Because some of those teenagers who ran amok in their schools played Counterstrike or Doom. That means that it would be forbidden to buy, sell or even produce such kind of games in germany. Back in the days when I´ve attended school, yes. I hope/guess so that it´s still taught in school. Yes and the rise of Palpatine for more power in Episode II reminds me a little on the "Patriot Act". Maybe Lucas had that in mind. Would be interesting to know what he´s thinking about todays politics.

Our government is discussing about using a filter-software especially to prevent kids of seeing things they shouldn´t. This will also affect us adults too. That´s all because of some things recently happened here, like school-massacres ala Littleton and strong Nazi-Parties and -Organisations in Eastern-Germany. What about the question of Grand_Admiral_Thrawn about "A new hope" (I still call it "Star Wars" ). Never heard about it, but I can simply imagine why that may have been occured. There are some parallels about the empire and the Nazi-Regime. Soldiers of the Wehrmacht were also called "Sturmtruppen", which in english means "Stormtroopers"! Than there is an association about the Star Destroyers with german Battlecruisers like the Bismarck or the Scharnhorst. Because Lucas was inspired by their look and a SD just looks like one of these cruisers cut in half. And than of course the green uniforms of the imperial officers, which look like german uniforms of WWII.

Like verdex just mentioned, the Wehrmacht was the regular army of germany, which also fought in WWI for the old Kaiser. The SS was at first a kind of bodyguard unit for Hitler and later became also a fighting unit integrated in the Wehrmacht, which was called the Waffen-SS. You had to be completely arian and a Nazi to became a member of the Waffen-SS. To be an arian meant that they shouldn´t had any jewish roots or family members. They had to be tall with white skin, blue eyes and blond hair. These rules later became not as important as they were before, because of the losses they had on the battlefields of europe. So it came, that lots of tamed and occupied or allied countries had their own SS-Brigade. I can remember that there was an ucrainian and even a turkish one. Members of the SS were totally indoctrinated with the sight of the Nazis. Instead of figthing on the frontline members of the Waffen-SS were involved in lots of massacres against jews, lefties or gipsies in eastern europe, especially in the sowjet-union. They also guarded the KZs. Like just mentioned the Wehrmacht was the regular army of germany, but there were also some soldiers and officers who were Nazis. Some units of the Wehrmacht were also involved in some massacres, which they did along with the Waffen-SS, but this was an exception. Because most members of the Wehrmacht were ordinary people like you and me who were just told to fight, they weren´t as seen as the SS. For example my uncle fought on the balkan and my mother´s cousin in russia. Both have been severly injured and weren´t Nazis. They had to fight or they would have been shot otherwise. Both never talked that much about their time there, because they saw lots of cruelties. Especially my mother´s cousin had to go through hard times. He was in Stalingrad and has been in a ghulag for years in siberia after the capitulation. He only metioned that once to me, after that never again. So I hope Darth_Officer may also change his avatar.

Well what´s about with the roman swastika that´s because the Nazis saw themselves in the tradition of the old romans. And I can just confirm to everything verdex wrote! But one good thing is, that officer has just changed his name. I hope he may decide to change his avatar too, before some german officials are attracted to.

You can decrease the warnings by switching them off under "warnings and protocolls" (or whatever it´s called in the english version ) than go to "generell" and switch it off. Just think about which programms you want to allow to get acces to the internet. The only programms which are allowed to do so on my pc are those who are just really needed (relevant internet protocolls, browsers, online-games). And firefox works faster for me than Iexplorer. Go to the Mozilla forums and search for that problem and I guess you will find something to solve it. I guess this site was optimated for the Iexplorer. That´s why you can´t see any dividers by using the firefox. I guess that must be Evaders job.

Do you run the CD in a burner? If yes than put it into a ordinary CD/DVD drive if you haven´t just tried to do so.

Thank you Paul! I can remember that I´ve downloaded some demo versions of photo-shop and paint shop pro. If I´ve found those CDs the compression-problem should be solved finally. BTW how are you doing?

We could think about new stories, adventures, characters and stuff for the SW-universe. But this also has just happened here in the forum. Something different: What about this community chatroom? I´ve discovered it a couple of days ago, logged in and there was just one guy with an unknown name and who didn´t answer. So do you use that chat from time to time? Would be nice to meet some of you there. And BTW Tex your new avatar It´s really funny that most of us have now a "christmass avatar".

I´m so sorry about that. I first went to a international site which was of course in english. When I clicked on the Link for the firewall I was sent to that site shown above. I´ve just thought that my IP was identified as german so this would happen to you too and the site would be shown in english, but it didn´t. You can turn this on again under the energy-option (don´t know how it is called in the englisch windows-version ). There are still lots of security-gaps. Of course there are some in Mozilla and Opera too, but most of the attacks of hackers or worms are made for the Iexplorer.

You can download the ZoneAlarm Firewall here. Do just download ZoneAlarm, it´s for free, the others aren´t. What´s up to graphic drivers that depends on which one is in use. Normally it´s either one of ATI or one of NVidia. Check their websites for the latest drivers. Just tell how it is called. Just deactivate processes which aren´t system processes. You can deactivate all processes as long as your pc is still working correctly. Otherwise you have to restart and leave that process alone for the future. Check if this Bonjour-thing is really deinstalled. Because I´ve heard about that it isn´t easy or it´s even impossible to deinstall it. I can´t say anything about any wireless-manager because I´ve never used them. Maybe malarkie can explain that. I know you like the easy use of the Iexplorer but it isn´t save. So think about it to use the Mozilla or the Opera Browser. They are also easy to use and much saver. I have them in use and I only take the Iexplorer just when it´s really necessary, for windows updates for example.
