  1. Where are you from Mitth? I've yet to actually meet a doctor who is such a pawn. You hear about them in the news, but I haven't met any yet. And considering my mom was a nurse for years and is now teaching at a medical college, I've known quite a few doctors in my limited time.

  3. I'd say they're all dating me, but we all know that would be so far from the truth as to not even be funny. More likely they all ran away as soon as I joined up, as I haven't seen much in the way of women folk around. Rumors on the wind... kinda like Nessy.
  4. Maybe someday I won't be a nerdy hermit living in my basement, only emerging to work so I can pay for a steady supply of toilet paper. When that day comes, perhaps I'll be capable of feeling alone... as it is, I'm alone so much I don't even notice.
  5. Eh, yeah, there's that too. You should hear Bro. Kay, he's like that all the time. Seriously, I don't think the man could ask for a whopper without sounding philosophical.
  6. That wouldn't break/fix my shut-up switch. But you're right in that it does make me think about things ealier then many people do, and I'm convinced I think about some things that a few people never even consider. For instance, what would it be like to be an ant if I maintained my current intelligence? What about being an ant queen? hmm... (Though I think that question has absolutely nothing to do with being Mormon )
  7. My shut-off switch is broken. Consequence of living with two sisters who enjoy having large gathering of their friends. I'm surrounded by idiocy most of the time, so when I get someplace where there's intelligent people I almost can't contain my glee and usually let all sorts of things slip.
  8. You... er,...
  9. Says you. I'm pretty sick and tired of accidentally clicking somewhere and having that idiot counterpart of his tell me I'm an idiot (though not is so many words). I doubt Mr. R2 would let us pitch his friend, so R2 has to go as well. Really, he doesn't have to be disassembled. Just get him out of my face! (Can't wait for Reloaded...)
  10. Too bad we can't go up to the people of the Middle East and say, "Look, your religion isn't compatible with the rest of the world. Either convert to something else or stop being a part of the world." In all reality, the only solution would be to withdraw from them completely, close the borders, and ignore them. Never mind that this is impossible, or that we'd be condemning many good people to death by doing so. The only other option is what we've got now (and I'm sure you'll agree that it isn't the best).
  11. Maybe... I'm not one to pass up the chance or idle thought on things that can never happen, making sure that I point out how good it would be if it actually did happen.
  12. I can think of one... too bad it doesn't exist. So I guess its a theory, really. A monarchy with a good king. But that's harder to find then two hydrogen atoms in a room full of oxygen... at some point they all group up and become water. Erm, I mean lesser men.
  13. As much fun as that might well be, I'm not sure that would be good. Murdering just isn't my thing. Instead, you should send him on a 'vacation' to Jamaca, and then find something wrong with his passport that needs investigation. Naturally until the matter is cleared up he can't go back to the Netherlands... unfortunately, it looks like it might take a few decades to figure out. Oh well, what better place to be exiled to then Jamaca?
  14. Plus most of us are quite a ways away (the US is only on the other side of the planet, after all), so no matter what happens there it won't directly affect us for a few days, giving us some time. The Pacific and Atlantic Oceans are the greatest 'Wall of China' that there ever was for us... you folks in Europe are a bit closer, but an Israel/Iran battle still won't affect you directly for awhile. (At least, not until they start drafting people )
  15. Just be glad you're experimenting with all this stuff as the Imperials. The Alliance has C3PO, who is much more annoying when he tells you he doesn't know what you're trying to do then the Imperial bot is.
  16. I usually don't do that because they end up captured on the first attempt. I send two or three, and that usually either succeeds or at least nobody ends up captured.
  17. I'll have to remember that. I just like long games because I can usually coax the computer into actually making a fleet of reasonable size... though it does take awhile. When does this apply? As far as I understood, it didn't really matter how many people you sent, so long as the average stats were still high. Again, am I off?
  18. Is this different from using multiple characters, when only one character gets a stat boost? I just figured the single char would get the boost... better tell me now if that's not the case, I've sent many people out on such missions. Anyway, most of the missions commandos/noghri can do succeed or fail baised upon the average stats of the group. Adding more commandos/nogrhi doesn't increase the average, just makes it less likely that when they foil the mission they will catch everybody who was sent... meaning with enough numbers somebody will be left to pull the mission off. Sending a character with high combat/espionage will increase the group's average, which is why it will succeed more often. That's why if you have a group of characters you want to send on a mission, you don't send anybody with stats that are too low, as it hinders rather then helps the group.
  19. Noghri have a tough time because their missions are hard (capturing is easier then assassination though, don't ask me why). They both have problems because their stats are poor, almost half of what your character's stats usually are when you send them on similar missions. Avoid sending them places that have generals, as its much harder to do a mission on such a planet. And as mentioned before, fleets are good at foiling your missions. I'd send groups of them, 5-8, and have 2-3 agents and the rest should be decoys. Decoys always improve your chances. Also consider sending a group of 4-6 with a character; the character and one nogrhi/commando should be agents, the rest decoys.
  20. BEAKed! He's been BEAKed good!
  21. Why does anyone turn traitor? Money, power, promises of whatever. You can't really prevent it from happening directly; as I understand it, you have fewer traitors when you're doing well. So win and it won't be a problem.
  22. Erm... either you have much to learn and don't know it, or I'm dumber then I thought (it took me a lot longer then that to really get the game down). For your sake, I hope its the latter.
  23. Hmm... suddenly, I don't want to be a major part of this thread. My opinions are stated, I think I'm done. *Washes hands*
  24. The goal is to name the ship for some reason, be it avatar, personality, or even posting frequency... Not just to name yourself some big powerful ship, just to be cool. Oh, and you can certainly have the same ship class named after you as somebody else (after all, who only builds one assault frigate? )
  25. Why the double post? Anywho, I figured somebody should stick up for poor Tofu over there, everybody was beatin' on the guy... Seriously though, I agree with him for the most part. As for work hours... well, I suppose I could be doing something useful during my work hours instead of spending it here. But really, what is a salesman supposed to do when there's nobody in the store to sell to? That's right, post on online forums of course! In any case, I'm not using expensive equipment, nor am I getting paid to play on the computer. I get paid for selling things, so I'm not wasting anybody's money either.
