Loosing capital ships looses some sector popular support where ever it happens, so to kick start some support on a system you've got your eyes on, try and take out an enemy fleet. The same goes with regiments, destroy them on a system through bombardment BUT don't invade a system increases popular through out a sector. For Imperial players having Palpatine on Coruscant doubles character's leadership, which is key to incite uprising missions. Don't mix with special forces on such missions though, their leadership won't increase over time. None of this seems to apply to Yavin though, their first words being: 'Mothma.' sorry.. No. Though building additional 'slots' would be absolutely brilliant, and makes perfect sense! Use characters and/or special forces on a 'rescue' mission. Flooding a system with for example twelve required regiments will suppress a rebellion in time. Use characters, Imperial Commandos, or alliance guerrillas on 'suppress' uprising missions. Again with Palpatine on Coruscant makes this very easy for Imperial characters because their leadership s doubled. Also, when an uprising is successfully suppressed, your popular support increases slightly throughout the sector. I generally garrison systems with about nine regiments, three of which should have very high detection values. Fighters also add to a system's ability to detect enemy missions, as do capital ships, and of course the presence of a general. Recruit together if you're the rebels! Though I don't recommend this as the Empire, as it will generally mean Vader and Palpatine are together on Coruscant. IE: game over! Use RebEd to alter the ship hyperspace times. 80 is stupid. I generally play with all ships at 60, friend and foe alike. The AI makes lots of pointless hyperspace journeys. Make them slightly quicker, even 50 all round shouldn't be to dramatic. Are you using decoys as part of your missions? If not then start doing so. As a rule of thumb, taking out an LNR defense on a system defended by say six or seven basic regiments and about double that in fighters, should be achievable more or less by nine commando or infiltrator units if about two are used as decoys, about 75% of the time I guess. Be wiry of systems with Sullestian regiments on account of that 35 detection rating, and don't even bother to use special forces on more or less anything on systems where there are more than eight troop regiments present. That's where force sensitive characters come into play.. Your welcome!
