  2. I found the trailor to be very nice in terms of presentation, but it could have done without what Darkmark said. Also is showed some new things which i like but it could have shown more combat in space and not just quick cuts of single events like it did. But I suppose its done that way so we don't know too much.

  4. A mod can only change as much as the game allows it to. Not just appearance, but just about every aspect of a unit, powers, anyhting as long as the game allows it to be done. I think Petro is taking a good step and making every aspect as moddable as possible as it will extend the life of the game, maybe even as long as 10 years as C&C has had.

  6. Thats a qualified no. What we'll be doing is expanding on the game and implimenting new things so it would not be compatible. W're going to have just about everyhting anyway from Ep 5 on.
  7. As for keeping the number low, that won't happen becuase everyone will have their own things. Even if its just a personal mod or a "Balance mod" people have different opinions. My mod is just a very complicated expansion mod. we're going to try and cram as much stuff as possible without going off course from the story. What you're going to see very early on after the game is released and even up to that point, you're going to have maybe 6 major mods already in production(including mine). these will be the major players and the premier mods people will play becuase of their depth. Afterwards expect Balance mods and simple addition mods. Later you'll see Total Conversions more indepth. I'm expecting good mods from the community.
  8. You don't have to have ALL the same mods that the other person has. Typically you can only have 1 mod installed at a time. I'd assume it'll be the same for EaW also since they made C&C. This is correct but if I had to say I'd pick my mod. I'm also looking forward very eagerly to 2 others.
  9. I don't throw everything in, just most. Also all you'd need is to find people wit hthe same mod you have and want to play. Mod updates are pretty big so chances of you not hearing about one would be very low. Mine is an Expansion mod btw, just a very big expansion mod, close to being a total conversion.

  11. I have concern of my own on the matter. TODAY just TODAY his count has shot up about 60-70 posts. Now In my career of forum posting on this and others I've NEVER done nearly that much. Even when I did maybe 40 posts a day for a week it was all good posting and no one-liners. PLEASE lets do something about this spammer/troller. I say a 1 week temp ban will do the job. Harsh yes but it'll teach him.

  16. Due to things behind the scenes we are delaying the November Update until the 18th. This is to allow more time for certain models to be done and so work can begin on another suprise to be unveiled around Christmas. At 150 meters it is one of the largest droids in existance. Several were statoned around Byss, the throne world of the Cloned Emperor, to enforce Imperial shipping regulations and to scan ships for contraband. They are equipped with Quad Laser Cannons and Ion Cannons. It also has Tractor Beams to haul escaping ships into its holding bays.

  19. It would be possible, but imagine a bunch of people refreshing everyhting and such to see the answers. Bandwidth Issues. Also I've noticed a problem with the forum in that Quick Reply doesn't really work well. Instead it takes you to the preview post screen and then the submit doesn't work. I know The Quick Reply is a mod for this forum but it seems upon install it got messed up. I'd advise taking it off so things work normal again.

  21. Its going fine, long term plans are being made for features coming out next year and in the short term as well.
  22. Your comp isn't going to die from rendering. CPUs don't explode and Vid card don't die from rendering. It'll just go slow. Look at Generals. The worst case scenario is that the game simply restarts.
  23. You do know that units not on your screen(ie on other planets and such) are not rendered and thus don't put a burden on your comp until you see them again.
  24. Just a thread to discuss the population cap which has been revealed by Delphi. No specific numbers but there is a Pop Cap. Whats everyones thoughts? I personally do not want one becuase I like the idea of massive fleets later on ingame and the freedom it allows me to defend my planets without sacrificing defense. If it stays in I hope we can at least mod it to be a very large number.
