XD! Zeus was Dionysus's father... But I dunno about the last post there... As soon as I couldn't find any logical explanation for Hyperdrive... I gave up looking for Science in SW
-
XD I did a school paper four years ago on Dionysus(The greek god of wine and parties) and I still remember he had a similar case...

I dunno... It goes against a lot, but prophecies are just people who claim to have had a vision of the future, or insight from the gods. So prophecies are made by crackpots... But movies aren't made that way...
-
I've always ignored the prophecy, making my own twist of the SW Universe saying that the Force is always in balance... but that's just me. But because I feel like it, I'm going to explain. I think there was no "Chosen One" or one that was supposed to have brought balance to the Force. Instead, no matter what happens, niether side can be wiped out completely, and won't be gone long. Both sides are always at the same potential strength. So, when Luke was the only remaining Jedi, he needed enough power to balance against the other two. So he had the potential to get it, and through the movies found it... saying that either means that his actions led to the death of Palpatine or that he found added strength in his father... either way. But that makes the Force almost seem sentient, almost like a god throwing elements together and enjoying the show.

Yeah! That little... 'adventure' was great. But not really that it wasn't done before... "These aren't the droids your looking for. He is free to go about his business. Move along." Except then it was really big bugs in a big white exoskeleton. Side-Note: Ganner becomes cool? I've read up untill the end of Jedi Eclipse. Ganner has had his defeat that he claims has made a new Ganner...but I still don't like him. Maybe it's just me.

That's exactly what we did I was hoping for specifics

Damn! I hate that..I ignore a thread untill I'm really bored..back read most the pages and realise I had a lot of opinion on most of the topics...expecially the Balance of the Force argument on like...the 3rd page. Oh well.
-
..sorry to say it, but I think everyone has heard enough about how evil LucasArts is being with this...and anyone who hasn't just needs to back read and they can get their fill. Lessons learned from backreading 4 pages of this thread: 1)Don't complain! It's out when it's out. If you can't wait, don't. 2)No features can be added or removed from the game! So don't suggest it! Hmm. Strange...I remember being annoyed for more reasons.. A question though. What are you guys doing with the Trip to Dagobah and Solo's bounty in Rebellion? You obviously can't get rid of them, you just have to change it...

I usually keep my ships together early in the game so it's harder for the Rebels to stand up to them and take them out, fleet by fleet. The problem with that though, is a big juicy sabotage target.
-
I really don't find the Rebels easier. I guess I just don't have the patience to look at the big picture aside from the small victories. e.g. Using Luke, Han, Chewbacca and Maw'Shiye(sp?) to sabotage most structures on their main shipyard world works towards the big picture while cutting off a Rebel fleet, while using Interdictor cruisers to pin them down and crushing their capital ships untill that Tarkin wannabe voice tells you the Empire is victorious is a lot more satisfying.

lol. I think that quote was Tycho Celchu. Really, it had to be Stackpole because the X-Wing series are the only ones that really go into the pilots lives beyond the ejector seat. Anyways back on topic. The lack of strategy might be what's standing in the way of a NJO TC. The computer says that shields resist torpedoes. In NJO though, Dovin Basals resist lasers more than Torps. Or maybe it's just because Yuuzhan Vong takes up more letters than Empire or Rebellion. lol.
-
Yeah. I always wished there were ways I could get Wedge Antilles into an X-Wing and make him into the Invincable Pilot. I think it was in one of Stackpole's books someone said to Wedge something like: "Do you know how many Imperial Pilots can't sleep knowing you're out there?"

Thanks. It is. What about command positions. Like I said, I have Jaina with commander. I didn't give any to Jacen and I plan on giving Anakin General.
-
I am working on a Jaina, Jacen and probably Anakin Solo card. I have Jaina's pictures done, but I don't know the stats. I haven't read much on her, and what I know doesn't help me much. She's a mechanical genius. That in no way tells me what kind of diplomat she is. She becomes a pilot. In Rebellion, that would help her as much as it helped Antilles. It only helped him appear in the game. He still had wimp stats. Anyways, I will be at the same loss with the other too as well. Maybe these weren't the best options for my first cards... I ended up giving her ship research of Antilles equivelant, no diplomacy with 30 variance, 80 espionage with 30 variance, 70 combat with 30 variance and 80 leadership with 20 variance. She can only be a commander though.

Actually, that pic wouldn't be that bad for Rebellion. The game has such low resolution, that picture isn't bad. Mostly, it's the colour that is the worst thing to mess up.
-
Yeah. I was looking for a card for the Solo kids, none of the pictures were worth using. Same with the Kyp Durron card. Probably the best place to get pictures is scanning book covers. I have a Junior Jedi Knights book from ages ago that has a good pic of Anakin and Tahiri. That book took place only a year before NJO. The NJO covers themselves though always have a pic of an X-Wing. There are enough of those around. EDIT: As a sidenote, after I posted this, I went looking for better Solo kid pics. I found a bunch. Both the Twins have fansites! I found a bunch.
-
I'm assuming that's how you do it with the encyclopedia character pics too.
-
For that matter, listen to them before you replace. Make sure that's what you are changing. Don't replace IMP-28's briefing with Solo saying: "I had everything under control." No, doesn't work.
-
You can make Luke start as an Imperial, but you can't change him halfway through the game, as they said.
-
Hmm...The Endar Spire maybe? They never really said what it was usually used for. It was just to transport Bastilla's mission. You never find out what her mission was supposed to be, so we really don't know. It was a military ship, but it also fell mostly to a few wings of fighters. If I remember right, the Spire was never hit with the cap ships because they weren't needed. I never played #2, so I really can't say about that. Watch the video at the end of the first game. When Bastilla uses Battle Meditation, they show a lot of ships. Take them, make a name, strap some stats to them. If anyone complains about inacuracy, tell them to go find official stats .

If I understand right, what your asking for would need you to hack into the games programming. We can't do that, don't know how. If we could, there would be so much more we could do with the game. Things like Luke going with Yoda is a big obstacle when trying to make a conversion.

Scrap research all together maybe. Just make a price difference substantial enough to dissuade SSDs in the start. Yeah. I haven't read all the books yet, only the first four. In the position I was planning on setting the start of this, I only really know 3 Vong characters. A bunch of dead warriors, Shedoa(sp) Shai, Deign Lian and Nom Anor. Shedo Shai and Lian died later in the book, but hey, Vader and the Emperor did too. I was just thinking that I'd call it the Republic and make the starting briefing say the Remnant is considered in it. Looking at this, it kinda seems overwhelming. Especially since it'd be my first real TC. I'll start with something easier first. Maybe something as simple as start this just after the attack on Coruscant. Add Ysanne Isard in there. Scrap the Emperor and Vader. Revamp graphics if I can. Then I might come back to this. Alright...RESEARCH TIME!
-
I was more thinking you would need to have the Vong vs the Republic. I was thinking that if I actually tried this, I would make it so the Vong cannot make shipyards(they need to destroy planets to make shipwombs as far as I know) give them a Sernpidal shipwomb. Make Dubrillion thier base and set the building just before the battle of Ithor. I would have just fused the NR with the Empire by giving the NR an equal share of both sides ship types, which I could still do. Things would be a lot easier if we could change the planets..but oh well. Ok. If I were to try this, who would help me with it?
-
This first one may seem like a dumb question, but I can't find where you put the Encyclopedia pictures anywhere. Could someone tell me which DLL and it woudl be nice if you knew the number too, but I could find it without. Second, is there a way to determine which planet would be started. e.g. The rebel base is always Hoth. Lastly, is it possible to make a New Jedi Order TC. I've been looking at it, and it would really be a challenge, but in the end, would it even be possible. Complications like making shipwombs, getting slaves to make troops and including the Imperial Remnant in there. This would also need the answer to the question above to be yes so that we can get Sernpidal and Dubrillion as starting planets.

lol, but as the posts before point out, what good would it do him with only 3 points on mines. I'd also bet military was not a priority in order to do that. If the rebels poked coruscant it probably would have blown up as if a Death Star hit it from every possible angle. ...every possible angle...I have to try that some time. The only stars you could see in the sky would be evil grey machines of death! Sorry...I kinda lost control there.
